First Flight of Calibre! (Patreon)

This fellow is one of my very first original characters dreamed up way, way back in 1994. For a teenaged DB, this man represented a lot of things I liked in the world of superheroes: Courage, strength, compassion, decency. He also, as time would tell represented other things I liked in men generally: Older, bearded, thick-bodied, hairy... Incredibly enough this is my first time illustrating him digitally. He has an entire backstory and world and supporting cast of characters around him but because his story isn't a specifically adult-themed one, I guess I never really felt a need to draw him here. But, it always feels good to revisit old characters and freshen up their designs, remember why I made them, and what I still like about them.

His powers are flight, super-strength, super-durability, and the ability to create temporary energy shields around himself. I actually don't think I ever came up with a real name for him either. But if I ever decide to do more with this character I'll get those background details taken care of.
