Atreyu and the Gmork (Patreon)

If my middle-age was ever in question, my deep, deep love for this film should probably clear that up, lol. And for those too young to recognize them, these are characters from the Neverending Story, a movie made popular by Stranger Things season 3! 😅Being honest though, this movie was everything to me as a kid. It scared me, delighted me, made me think about things far beyond my ability and also had the lovely side effect of pushing me into libraries and book stores in hopes of finding my own copy of the Neverending Story so I could enjoy adventures of my own. The film is still incredible to this day, I still watch it every other year or so and drift off into a happy nostalgic haze full of luck dragons, rockbiters, childlike empresses and the terrifying (and also quite fuckin' sexy) Gmork. Back then the terrible black wolf frightened the hell out of me, but by teenager status he also was giving me undeniable urges. All these years later I figured it was time to werewolf him and age up his rival, Atreyu. Spent many happy hours working on this particular illustration.
