The Buried Pillars is a 2D Metroidvania action with challenging fast-paced combat and deep exploration. Traverse diverse environments, gain new abilities, and face powerful bosses as you push deeper into the unknown.Review:Artstyle:If you haven't play a TFANCS game. This kind of artstyle is quite consistent throughout all of his games. TFANCS has this unique cartoon style of art with slightly realistic looking genitals. It makes a good combination in contrast to his animations. It's charming in it's own way. It appeals to both genders and I appreciate that. It is a rarity for a game that can appeal both genders without ever realizing it. 10/10💦Music:Mmmmm.. Yep that would be your reaction too if you hear this game's music. Every area music is distinct and unique on it's own. All of them are greatly composed and perfectly catching every biome's vibes. My only problem with it is, or I guess my own nitpick is I wish they could've done different genre's when going on different parts of the map. That would be cool. But that's just me. 9/10✨Animations:This is reason why I played this game, well other than the main gameplay at least. The animations looks so good. Each and every one of them are so well drawn and I love the designs for the enemy monsters too. Now as good as the animations are, there is a setback to this. In each area, you can only get 2 scenes. That's the Game Over scene and the Defeated Boss scene. Yes I know it is kinda lacking in H-scenes in general but at least you get a decent chunk of it. And most of them do have amazing designs with fantastic animations. But is a bit disappointing when you know you can't do something about the defeated normal mobs like the goblins or imps for example. I understand that it would be hard and expensive to make if they actually manage to animate every single enemy in this game. But yeah that's about it. 8/10✨Gameplay:Oh yeah the actual meat and the bones of the game. Man the parry system is so satisfying. Ok before talking about that, here's a rundown on gameplay, There's no lore but it does tell some environmental storytelling. Arrow keys to move, Z to attack, X to jump, A to activate spells, S to do specific types of spells. You have HP and Mana on the top left, you can recover mana by hitting or defeating a boss. You can parry enemy attacks too. And it's actually such a good feeling. When you perfectly parry an enemy, it reverberates this [THONK] sound and ughhh it's so satisfying. Parries can also recover you mana. So it's always a good thing to do on combat or even environmental hazards cuz' you can parry those too. I forgot you can pogo like in Hollow Knight by attacking downwards while airborne.Let's talk about the enemies too. The enemies doesn't fuck around. They can outnumber you and have some of the most difficult attack patterns. But not everything is impossible to beat. Like Dark Souls, you get used to their patterns and can take that advantage to your play. The bosses are so cool too. I'm glad they're not easy. I mean I did take the Harder difficulty which was the intended difficulty by TFANCS. But yeah the bosses are great and they don't fuck around too. All of them can easily take you about at least 5-10 deaths per boss. That's how difficult they are. 10/10💦Rating:I'm giving this a strong 9/10. It's one of the best Metroidvania with H-scenes you could play right now.
