Devlog March | Week 2 (Patreon)
Content
Well… we published the de-No wait, that was last week’s devlog.
Right now we’re focusing heavily on the core of this chapter: Talia and Feafy’s storylines! Their arcs will take a major step forward and bring a big shift to the current lore, so a lot of our attention is going into making those scenes feel impactful!
On the art side, Lior’s design has now been finalized, and all of his sprites have been completed alongside the rest of the characters needed for these scenes. Everything visually is coming together really nicely!
Now you might be wondering:“Why is the code behind? Are you slacking, coder?”
Ye-No.
The reason is that REM is almost ready. And we mean the entire game! (Code wise)
REM will be very different from Lussuria in terms of gameplay. Instead of being a linear visual novel, it’s closer to a sandbox experience, with:
stats based on your choices
items you can discover
multiple endings
progression entirely driven by your decisions
Everything revolves around choice and consequence.
For example: if you don’t scare the girl enough during certain events (so the scared stat is under a certain number), you won’t obtain a specific item. Without that item, you won’t be able to craft a fragment that unlocks one of the major NSFW scenes later in the game!
As we’ve said before, we don’t want to be a one trick pony, so we’re experimenting with a completely different kind of experience. Building it has definitely been a challenge, but with the help of some developer friends we’re managing to put together something really cool! ❤️
The optimization phase is basically complete, which is great news for performance and file size!
From here, while we finish the remaining story scenes for REM (which is much smaller than Lussuria in terms of story), we’ll keep the same development pace for Lussuria. So don’t worry, there won’t be any additional waiting time there!
We’ve also added a Sensitive Content Filter to the game. This system includes a list of scenes that some players might find uncomfortable. If the filter is enabled, those scenes will automatically choose the “Nope, don’t want this to happen” option.
For example, in Talia’s scene, enabling the filter will automatically prevent the event from happening. Of course, choosing the option manually during gameplay will still give you additional lore context and dialogue, but the filter exists so players who prefer to avoid certain content can still enjoy the story comfortably!
More updates soon, and things are about to get really interesting! Thank you for your incredible support, we love you all! ❤️
