Regarding the credits running 1st, if you watch most films prior to Star Wars The credits almostalways ran at the start of a film. In fact George Lucas almost got kicked outta the director's guild b/c he wanted the iconic text scrawl that we all know and love to open Star Wars.

I hope they did watch Toy and Tori's reaction. They need to know that this was a low low low budget movie. They didn't have money for horses, or the final attack scene and other things. They did what they could with what they had. That's one thing that makes it so funny! I think the other Python movies had real budgets, so they'll never compare to this one. I had a great time watching.

'Monty Python' was a brand name for a group of comedy writers and performers on British TV in the early 1970s. They wrote and performed their own surrealist comedy sketches over four TV series, and became as popular in Britain as (by comparison) the Saturday Night Live team in the US. This movie was made after the TV series had ended, and was an attempt to make Monty Python popular outside of the UK - which it succeeded in doing! They made four movies in total; this one generally considered to be the most popular - although the three other movies have their own loyal following.

Those who own the DVD know that the menu(s) are nearly as fun as the movie itself! 😜 I first watched this as a little kid and understood NOTHING (though I did laugh at a few of the cartoon bits lol) Time to watch now... (grabbing my coconuts so I don't lag behind... 🥥🥥🎠😜 ) Post-watch edit: There aren't enough hearts in the universe for this one! 😘❤️💕❤️💕😘❤️💕❤️💕😘❤️💕❤️💕😘❤️💕❤️💕😘❤️💕❤️💕😘❤️💕❤️💕😘❤️💕❤️💕😘❤️💕❤️💕😘❤️💕❤️💕😘❤️💕❤️💕😘❤️💕❤️💕😘❤️💕❤️💕😘❤️💕❤️💕😘❤️💕❤️💕😘❤️💕❤️💕😘❤️💕❤️💕😘❤️💕❤️💕😘❤️💕❤️💕😘❤️💕❤️💕😘❤️💕❤️💕😘❤️💕❤️💕😘❤️💕❤️💕😘❤️💕❤️💕😘❤️💕❤️💕😘❤️💕❤️💕😘❤️💕❤️💕😘

Another bit of parody was the style of the opening credits. Many "art" films of the 1950s, '60s, and early '70s had similar opening credits, especially the Swedish films of Ingmar Bergman (and Japanese films of Kurosawa), with English subtitles. These credits were in English with fake Swedish subtitles, and Monty Python absurdity infused. And, by the way, the end was a cop-out.
