Most Skyrim marriages end at the altar. This one starts there.

You find the person, complete the ceremony, move into a house — and then Skyrim quietly turns your marriage into a shop menu and a home-cooked meal once a day. Your spouse stands where you left them, waiting to sell you something.

Spouses Enhanced was built around a better idea: marriage should feel like a relationship.

Your spouse remembers how often you make time for them. They approach you when they miss you. They can be affectionate, impatient, playful, offended or unwilling to pretend nothing happened after being rejected twice. Intimacy becomes part of the marriage instead of a dialogue button that exists outside it.

This edition brings that system to OStim Standalone.

The original SexLab layer has been removed from the plugin and replaced with OStim threads, scene selection, furniture detection, undressing and scene events. SexLab is not required. It is not a hidden compatibility dependency. It is not one of the plugin’s masters.

What’s included:

A relationship that develops over time — affection has five levels and grows through consistency. It does not count how many scenes you start. It remembers whether you were present for your spouse across the days.

A spouse who comes looking for you — if too much time passes, they may approach instead of waiting forever beside the same chair. If you are away, they can wait for you at home.

Rejection with memory — turn your spouse down twice and they can remain upset for the next 24 in-game hours. Affection is not a vending machine.

Different ways for intimacy to begin — seven entry events are selected according to your affection level, so every encounter does not open with the same exchange.

More than sex — kissing, cuddling, masturbation, oral, vaginal, anal, rough, advanced and three-person encounters are mapped into OStim’s scene system.

Scene selection that respects the request — an embrace is not allowed to quietly become penetrative sex because the animation library could not find the perfect cuddle. If no safe match exists, the mod would rather stop than choose something completely wrong.

Permanent creature protection — creature and bestiality scenes are always excluded. This is enforced internally and cannot be accidentally disabled by scene fallback.

Furniture handled by OStim — beds are discovered and classified through OStim’s furniture system. The old manual SexLab bed list is gone. The MCM option now tells you whether OStim recognizes the furniture under your crosshair.

A master bed — let the mod find it or mark the bed you want with the included spell.

Ten outfit drawers — give your spouse complete outfits and let them change for different situations.

Awareness of Hearthfire children — the mod can avoid starting an encounter at home while the children are awake. Hearthfire is detected without becoming a mandatory master.

Fully voiced dialogue — 136 voice files covering 72 dialogue responses across 27 vanilla voice types. This is not a silent conversion held together by subtitles.

Three practical abilities — locate your spouse, mark your master bed, or use a daily power to put them in an affectionate mood.

The original quests, dialogue, vacation content, roleplay events, outfits and relationship progression preserved around the new OStim scene layer.

This is not a new marriage system wearing the old mod’s name. It is the original Spouses Enhanced rebuilt where it actually touched the adult framework, while preserving the part that made it worth bringing back: a spouse who behaves as though being married to you changed something.

Installation

Install the archive with your mod manager and enable SpousesEnhancedSE.esp.

A clean save is strongly recommended if you previously used the SexLab version. Skyrim stores script state and event registrations inside saves, so replacing the old framework-dependent scripts mid-playthrough may leave old registrations behind.

⚠️ Important

This is the first OStim release candidate.

All 122 Papyrus scripts compile successfully. The ESP contains only Skyrim.esm and Update.esm as masters, and the active package contains no SexLab scripts. Scene filters were calibrated against a real OStim library containing 8,800 scenes.

That proves the conversion is structurally complete. It does not replace an in-game playtest.

The old optional “clean fluids” interaction is currently inactive. Restoring it correctly requires optional OCum integration on both sides — detection and cleaning — and I chose to leave the dialogue dormant instead of shipping a button that sometimes does nothing. OCum is not required for this release.

RC testing priorities

If you play it, these are the things I need to know:

Does your spouse approach you normally after enough time passes?

Do scenes begin with the correct participants and intended roles?

Do kissing and cuddling remain non-penetrative?

Do scenes placed at the master bed use the correct furniture?

Does the spouse return to normal packages after the scene ends?

Does masturbation end cleanly without leaving the spouse stuck?

Do three-person scenes start with all three intended actors?

Do outfit drawers, vacations and roleplay events still behave as they did in the original?

Which animation packs are installed when a wrong scene or no scene is selected?

The final question matters. OStim can only choose from the scenes present in your game, so every animation setup tests a combination I may not have here.
