March Patreon Update (Patreon)

This month I finished the Marvel Character Reading Order updates. You can see the progress here: Updates. So all Marvel Characters are now up to date, if you find any that aren't let me know.

In April I will begin updating the DC Character reading orders. They may take slightly longer than the Marvel updates because they haven't been updated as frequently. The Marvel characters had last been updated in 2019 while the DC characters haven't been updated since 2015/2016.

Also in March reading orders for the DC Absolute Universe and DC K.O. were posted. I have also been adding more issues to the DC All In Reading Order as the first chapter of it closes and DC moves on to DC Second Level.

In April you can expect an Ultimate Universe reading order for Marvel as it ends. I also plan to have the update to the Valiant Universe posted in the next week or two.

Something new you may have noticed with the Marvel Character reading order updates is the layout changed slightly, in that the TPB tab was removed from the pages. Once I had long term plans of maybe doing TPB reading orders so I added the tab as a bit of future-proofing but realistically they were never going to get done. I have thought of something else similar that I think will be much more useful: a Notes tab. On character reading orders it would include things like alternate starting points, suggestions on different runs to read, related characters, etc. On event reading orders it would include things like what comics lead up to the event, which tie-ins are worth reading, follow-ups, etc. These will be added to existing reading orders slowly over time.

I also have an idea for a new type of reading order. I have an idea for about 6 reading orders of this type. These will be large reading orders, numbering in the thousand+ issues. The first of these will be posted probably in May as a prototype and I'll gauge interest and talk about ideas for the rest of the reading orders.

A note about something not related to the site: Marvel Heroes. If anyone remembers this game from back in the day it is back from the dead and able to be played again thanks to the efforts of some fans who have brought the game back to life. All the info on playing the game and joining community servers or making your own can be found on the Marvel Heroes subreddit. I'm just posting about it as a fan of the original game and it has been great to be able to play it once again.

I hope everyone has had a great month and I'll talk to you again in 30 days.
