It's a mouthful I know but it felt on theme.Hello again! Apologies for the delay on this but, it's finally here now!The winner of last months Patreon Poll was Walter and the theme was Academy. And with that theme, I did want to do a little something special aside from trying out new stuff which most of the Patreon rewards so far kinda have been in general. So this is, actually, a short Visual Novel!I had the idea for this a while ago and did write some of it beforehand but pretty much all the art and cobbling it together to actually be playable was done for Patreon. It's nothing super grand, I'd wager the playtime is around 10-15 minutes depending on how fast you read and if you want to see everything (there's two endings!)The 'good' ending does also have an illustration to it which I thought basically still doubles as the usual Patreon Illustration. I won't post it here just yet as to not spoiler anyone who wants to see it in the game first but you can find it in the game folder as well, alongside the background sketches and the sprites!I did want to also try doing the music myself but it was a considerably bigger hurdle so I used some free to use music done by Bell Kalengar who gratiously provided some tracks for free on Itch. Check them out here, they are great! https://bellkalengar.itch.io/essential-game-music-packSpeaking of that, I will release this little VN at the end of this Month on Itch as well! Hopefully while brushing up the UI a bit too cause that part I mainly ran out of time for.Anyways, that's enough yapping on my end!I did test the finished build but please let me know if any problems or bugs or what not come up down below or in Discord!Thank you once more and I hope this one's at least a little fun!

It is peak and the final illustration looks so nice with all of the lighting effects and the pose. Literally could be printed and put up as a damn fine piece.

Wow! That's really above and beyond! I'm very excited to play it, I'd say it more than counts for the month's illustration

I did manage to play this today, I hope you don't mind if I leave some thoughts here! (I was always taught that double-posting is bad etiquette, but I figure this is okay) Firstly, I really love visual novels in general! And I've actually followed your art for a really long time, so I'm really happy to learn a little bit more about the world you've created! A class with a quiz was a great way to make sure readers paid attention and absorbed the information. It can be easy to glaze over details when reading...But I was always a top student, so you won't catch me disappointing a hunky professor 😏 . I also think it's really cool you drew all your own assets! I don't think this is as common anymore, but when I was younger, visual novels used to just use blurry stockphotos of real life for the backgrounds. The fact you drew it yourself (and even wanted to make your own music) shows a lot of heart! Even though it is short, you created a premise, established lore, and effectively showcased Walter's personality. Your ability to accomplish all of these things succinctly is actually more impressive than you might realize, especially for your first time! If you're touching things up for the itch release anyway, it may be a good idea to implement a CG Gallery. I know there is only one CG, so it's not like its necessary, I just think people might like being able to pull it up whenever. If it's a hassle, don't worry about it. If you ever consider doing more projects like this, I'd certainly support your endeavors! (...Especially if they ever happen to get a little spicy 😈 lol.) Like I said, this is above and beyond. You did a really good job!

Just seen both endings. I'm so happy you were able to do this VN! As you say is short but this is just the beginning, and I will always suport you. Talking about the VN i loved the story, the way you made Walter feel as a character was great, the art was awsome, the asset were made by you and it showed (in a good way).
