Some concept work for the "NCRO" comic project.I'm still working on the designs for his other three "team mates"; they will all be humanoid Grimm but I'm considering making one of them a female.I've also been considering making their glowing markings different colours (green, purple, not sure about the fourth colour), but I'm not sure if I want to do that or stay consistent with the canon Grimm aesthetic. Different colours would make them more easily identifiable and unique, especially in scenes with dark lighting.

I think it'd be worth trying, glowing light blue or purple markings could be cool.

Makes me think of the human/grimm hybrid situations. We saw the hound one Salem made, and obviously Cinder is increasingly grimm. Depending on how dark you're feeling, could do a Summer hybrid thing

I've been writing some concepts along those lines, and the previous Semblances these people had before being corrupted by Grimm will change in a distorted way to suit their new Grimm form. Maybe the colour of their markings will be related in some way as well.

I feel like keeping with canon colors would be preferable. Maybe go with drastic design changes to tell the difference like one that is more scales and draconic, vs one that is female, vs one that is more fur based?

Hell yeah, definitely dig the idea of having different glow colors; if not for all, at least male/female colors sounds cool.

That's a possibility, but having only one female Grimm would make her more interesting and unique. I'll consider that either way.

Could go with different designs based on undead creatures? A Skeleton/Lich, an armored Death Knight sort of look, a more wispy spirit/banshee design for a female grimm, etc?

It has been established that people's Aura do have different colors, so that could actually be lore friendly too!

Those are cool ideas, I'll keep them in mind and see what works.

I think it's a safe bet that when Team RWBY meets these Grimm, Weiss is going to immediately call dibs on the biggest one 😏
