From a storyteller’s perspective, this ending was a bit disappointing. It’s akin to Khan’s death being boiled down to a recycled ship explosion without the satisfaction of seeing the moment Khan realizes he’s lost. And as I writer myself, I feel bad for Anthony—he was very clearly trying to make this final moment as emotionally powerful as the prior season. But, I mean, that’s DnD—you’re at the mercy of your players. Still, I can’t be the only one wishing we’d at least seen Ron’s reaction to the end of Willy

Why does Anthony sound, from the very beginning of the episode, to the very end, so utterly disinterested? He's monotone almost the entire time unless he is laughing at someone's joke, and just seems so detached.

Man, I really disliked some parts of that ending. But damn, I was in tears at the end. Hearing Anthony tear up really got me and as the ending music started it dawned on me. That this podcast carried me quite a few miles and espacially that last season really got me through my last exams and now that alright really picked up I had tears streaming down my face, thinking that in 1 month I will be starting my first job after graduating. Okay I've listened to it twice. I thoroughly enjoyed it this was an amazing episode and a great season. I just have to rules lawyer just a little bit though. I know it all worked out but shouldn't Taylor have had resistance to fire damage due to being a Tiefling? I know it didn't matter in the end but when I was listening to it the first time I thought shouldn't he have not taken fire damage? The improv was top notch as always, and the season was really funny, but I super appreciate what Anthony did with Dude -- like, a little non-binary sad guy with big emotions, they end up as the emotional center of the story. 😢 💖 I think this season really pushed against the usual kind of D&D power fantasy and showed that campaigns can really successfully tell different types of stories. Kudos to everyone involved! (But man, there was a lot of piss, lol.)

But they were VERY much pushing this narrative that forensic accountants are total badasses tracking down terrorist cells and jumping out of helicopters and shit. One of my professors mostly did divorce asset valuation and he even tried to make THAT sound cool and dangerous because like….you might piss someone off and they’ll ice you.

My 3rd and a half time listening to season two. I don’t care what anyone says this season slaps. I was def one of those people at first who listened to the first half and then lost interest but once I got over myself and accepted the change I realized how good it actually is. I wish there was more season 2 love because the teens are some of my favorite characters and their story is amazing. Also best epilogue outtro.

When I first listened to this episode I was driving 1.5 hours to work as a teacher and the Marching Band Cover wrecked me. Now I’ve switched careers due to gun violence in my school, and returned to listen to the teens sing it after the 2024 election cause I remembered how powerful it felt to hear these characters commit to getting back up and say “not today”. I feel incredibly lucky to have found this podcast on a whim 4 years ago. Literally googling “good D&D podcasts to listen to”. If anything this was better in the sense they had a much more even fight, last season had like 100 elephants, 2 dragons, a giant zombie kid, a crab mech driven by a bullywog, 2 and a half demon lords, a rock concert, and a nuke, to name a few. They even mentioned how the finale went off without a hitch in their wrap up, this one seemed a little more like they could've died. Both were awesome, kudos for whatever people like, at the end of the day it's down to a roll of the dice

Wow this finale and season was so unexpectedly great for me. I went in knowing alot of people say it's not as good as season 1 and I have to say they're not correct in my opinion. This season is fantastic for what it is, the teens are great characters, the stories of both Scary and Norm especially hit me so damn hard. This didn't feel like a sequel but a story that just happened to be in the same universe. Felt familiar but unique in the best way.
