I hope Beth/Herb keeps up with engaging with the moral philosophy of the Sculptor. The scope of these character's worlds should be drastically altered based on what they've experienced of the universe in the last week (or however long they've been in space for), and I think it makes sense for their personal ontologies to be challenged. I find it reductive and uninteresting to engage with the Sculptor as a generic, sociopathic big bad, and I hope there is still conflict left in that dynamic.

I think it's still more interesting to engage with it more. I don't need characters who make the "right" decision immediately/after questioning it only once. That is not interesting. Most storys would never happen if no character ever had flaws or acted on impulse and emotion. Plus, that's not how people irl work either.

Optimization isn’t everything, but woof if that’s accurate a total of +1 between both Dex and Wisdom is absolutely atrocious for a monk. Like that’s where I’d strongly encourage a player to reconsider either their stat allotment or their class, because the humor of being bad wears off quickly and it just gets frustrating. Matt’s using his movement abilities well, but a character with stats that low in both primary abilities is the equivalent of a Wizard who doesn’t cast spells and tries to use an axe they aren’t proficient with instead.

(Not arguing with you btw) but I almost feel like the Sculptor is himself a Dark Forest being (since he’s resorting to a trolley problem form of ethics & treating other races as a means to an end) and he’s just manipulating everyone to sound like he’s a softer/benevolent force. So I don’t think making a quick decision about opposing him necessarily means another race is malicious, or at least isn’t being any more malicious than him

Coming in way late here because I’ve been saving for a binge. But if they were to join the hive mind wouldn’t that negate the ability that their bodies have to avoid detection?? Considering they would lose their original bodies the benefit of having them join would be gone once they turn into sentient meat sculptures. So, I'm on my 2nd listen (started again after finding out who the sculptor was). Spoiler-laced theory/question below: In this episode, Anthony mentions that The Sculptor's hand goes into the vent and then starts to chase them with this flesh. This time, I immediately flashed back to season 2- Little Normal letting out the Flesh Monster at D.A.D.D.I.E.S. that caused Code Purple to be put in play. *What if the Flesh Monster is Francis?!?*
