Modern dishwashers have turbidity sensors that gauge how dirty the dishes are and adjust the clean cycle accordingly. Just scrape off food waste, leave everything as is, or the dirtier dishes will not be washed completely. Do not rinse. Also, in north America, let the tap run to become hot before starting the pre-wash(because NA outlets are puny and have no power, and the pre-wash will happen with cold water), and use powder detergents, not tablets

Woah the episode absolutely was fun to listen to! Like, normally I am really put off by vivid & repeated descriptions of gore or other gross body stuff but I was absolutely hooked (and just powering through the bits that would usually, like, put me off of whatever food i was eating at the time). I think there's something inherently comforting (for me) in knowing that the tone switch is just temporary.

the reason for needing food on the dishes in the dishwasher is actually because dishwashers have a turbidity sensor! essentially they keep cleaning until they get clear water. if you start off with close to clear water, it’s not going to run as many cycles as you need to get tougher stains off or to really clean things that are stuck on. don’t scrape everything off your dishes! leave some grime! your dishwasher will work better!!!!

I was recently in high school and I'm telling you now the kids are not getting more puritanical. Some definitely are, but if anything the problem is the opposite. A lot of kids have unrestricted internet access from a young age and get exposed to porn and all that jazz, and it's pretty damn harmful. I'm very pro teens exploring their sexuality, but a lot of the time teens don't know how to do it safely

Also, super sorry to be a buzzkill, but teaching has been turned into gig work, where 75% of uni profs are adjuncts with low pay and little to no job security, and they're making cuts everywhere so fewer people are teaching more students. And high schools require state teaching licensure. So teaching isn't really a fall-back to count on (putting aside the fact that teaching is a skill that requires career training like any other job). 😬 But the way y'all talked about it is how almost everyone does if they haven't been inside of it, and this isn't meant as a criticism!

I really enjoyed this episode, and honestly am a little burnt out from all the self hate on their own art. It's good to be self critical, but if I went to an artist market and the artists all kept saying "oh yea but this art i made is pretty bad, and this next one is worse" I'd be uncomfortable and disheartened at an otherwise exciting spectacle. I know they are just being honest in the after show, but I just wish they (mostly Anthony) had some positive appreciation for what they make

This was one of my favorite episodes to listen to in a long time, not that the rest of the campaign(s) have been bad by any means, but this felt so refreshing it’s like watching someone play a horror game on YouTube, they’re going to make choices and get scared but you can’t do anything about it except experience it unfold and I love that feeling!
