I’d wondered whether Cern was the Man in Purple before this episode aired (despite the fact the timeline doesn’t work), but out of nowhere this one bolstered that theory. Of course it’ll probably be more satisfying if its a new character, but strange that they’ve already created one candidate who would want to punish them entirely separate from what Anthony has planned.
