I think this whole wombat thing could be easily solved two ways. First of all you can’t cast spells in beast shape. Second of all the wombat only has 10 hp so all the Hotties had to do was damage it a couple times and then Henry is forced out of beast shape and the number of times he can go back to beast shape is limited by his Druid level.

Can you imagine how much trauma Grant would have back in the normal world? I feel like he’s built for the forgotten realms.

But if Carol continues to search for the next 23 (I think my math is right) earth years, then she'll probably stay with him if he can somehow return with Grant to earth. But it does seem like Anthony is kinda pushing this whole idea of Grant belongs here and taking him home will only hurt him more.

It seems like he's giving Grant and Darryl a very meaningful character arc for their future outside the forgotten realms. Grant has to learn some hard lessons about love/loss and about Darryls position as a father, then take those lessons back home. Darryl needs to be able to make the hard choice to take his real son out of fantasy land despite that Grant might feel like he belongs there, and it could cost them Paeden. This sets up a big moment for Darryl/ Grant/ Paeden, where Grant will have to see his father struggle with the decision to bring his real son home or try to protect this other kid who is also important to the group. Parenting is work that is never finished nor truly appreciated, and I think they are trying to exemplify that here.

I feel like if they destroy the bowl and Paeden gets his memories back there can be a meaningful talk between him and Darryl and him and Grant. He can be the connection between the two. Also...good setup for a sacrifice towards the end to save everyone and get them out of the Forgotten Realms.
