Freddie sits down with composer Maxton Waller to discuss the thinking behind the Season 2 theme, generally nerd out over music stuff, and also go over an early, unused version of the theme!

yeh Beethoven probably wouldn't hear music and go "yeah that's good" lol

Aylis J Lind

I would love an occasional "Freddie and Friends Nerd About Music" podcast. This was delightful

Coltin Townsend

Did ya’ll ever decide to do the vinyl of rocks rock? I looked for it and couldn’t find it anywhere if it was made.

James

I love this seasons theme song!!!

Gregg Simms

The new song is soo good!

joe doe

Really awesome to hear the making of the background like this. Would definitely like to hear more of it keep up the good work

NarukiTooth

This is wonderful. I absolutely love the fact that this season’s theme song recalls the last theme song with “used to tell ourselves ‘it’ll be alright’”The lyrics are just so impressive to me it’s like learning how things really circle together in a satisfying book plot.

Mason Dyck

Is there gunna be a talking dad

Cory Kwan

Freddie mentioning the guy who seasons his board and not his meat really suprised me. I love Adam Ragusea

Daniel Kubank

The section about weird tunings and tabs takes me back!! I remember breaking strings on a few of the Goo Goo Dolls songs because they had wack tunings for some of their songs. Then once I had the tuning, I wouldn't change it for a few weeks haha

O

I really want to see the marching band cover

Luke Bell

Now I wish I could be in marching band again so I could do this!

Andrew Gordon

Genuinely so, so impressed by the theme song this season. Usually a podcast theme blends into the background after the first episode or two, but here I've actively found myself scrolling back to listen again. Such a fuckin banger. Great job Maxton (and Freddie)!

Cameron Jones

The SM7b is a good mic but there has been a big surge in the last couple years of good competitors, I regular find the procaster by rode on the FB marketplace and it's just as good and slightly less gain light, Samson q2u is a great budget option.

lazo

ROCKS ROCK VINYL 👀👀👀

Ophelia Bee

More of Freddie and Maxton talking music would be fantastic. Such good vibes

Matthew Forrest

I know very little about music but listening to you guys chat and get excited about something you're passionate about is so dang wholesome. Quality content my dudes.

I absolutely love the season 2 theme, I kept listening to it on repeat it's so good. I think if there is one thing I really appreciate, it the fact that the cast of DnDads come from alot of different creative backgrounds, it's always interesting to see what knowledge they bring to the table. I particularly love it when Freddy Gets That Voice when starts talking about something technical he knows alot about/is passionate about. I think DnDads wouldn't be as good as it is, if they did have the varied creative backgrounds, it the mixed skill that really makes the show what it is.

Cody

This was remarkable! I'm not a music nerd but hearing nerds rant about their nerd topic is top tier! I loved this!

Jaime Shevat Art

This was such a wonderful bonus!! I know nooooothing about music. Thoroughly loved the passion and knowledge!!

Bart Hosier

Can you make the theme song an actual arrangement for purchase for bands to play in the stands?

Jenica

The option to pay nothing for these songs made me happy to pay extra instead. Thank you, Maxton!

Martin Kidney

This was a great MBIC section. It is great to hear Maxton and Freddy talk about music and the thought process behind the theme song.

callie norwich

But when can I download the theme song!

O

It's on Bandcamp

Spinnaker

Interesting how the previous version of the song is less ambiguos in its wording, like "not today, death" and "send our son our way"
