Her character constantly does things to sabotage the group that’s why she’s problematic. Exactly what I said a girl with daddy issues. I’m 13 years pass her age but thank you lol the point is I understand too much of this character because I relate to what Beth is conveying. Scary isn’t a likable person.

Also "hey this guy was abusive and awful to someone you've never met before, but he's nice to you*" probably is something that would make scary feel special and like she has earned being treated well. Is that a good thing? No. Is that how many abusive relationships start? yes. *at this point of the story

I love how everyone is slowly getting tired of Scary's crap. As a guy with a weak spot for goth girls, I love how everyone was like, blinded by how cool and edgy she was at the start, only for them to slowly see how unbearable it can become over time. Excellent job on nailing down the teenage girl Beth, it's almost like you know from experience!

So Anthony has an interesting conundrum. Willie is a sociopath, or at least suffers sociopathy. Yet mental illness doesn’t make you do evil things, rather societal expectations, habit, cognition. I hope he’s making Willie have a genuine turn to the point that he is able to. Truly Willie is a victim like most mentally ill people of societies inability to create amenable spaces for them. In the first season, he has made himself a villain. He is a selfish person and doesn’t care about others. Maybe he never will. But he’s just the villain. The Willie we see now has had time to think. He easily could be plotting revenge, but I expect his self reflection is real. It’s clear that he is able to subvert his sociopathy into killing the mayor’s people and being a hero to his new community, he may find meaning and purpose there. In a sense he may be able to accidentally brainwash himself into being prosocial, even if he himself has no feelings of love for others. That said. Willie is a full ass adult. True change is difficult for someone like him. I won’t be shocked if he does something evil or “evil”.

hmm but from a story perspective i feel like it wouldnt make much sense to have all this tension & suspense from the kids working with him lead up to him just being actually good b/c then there’d be no payoff? you could argue that theres the redemption arc route where he proves himself (by maybe even sacrificing himself or smthing), but i can’t really see that either since there’s no other main antagonist other than willie now that the turn of doodler has been revealed (unless lark/sparrow/grant/etc. are legit villains but i don’t see that being the case either) idk thats just my thinking if i had to lay it down logically but also personally speaking i still dont like or trust willie HAHA :’)

I don't like or trust Willy either but he's been genuinely less shitty to the Teens than their dads have been. Trauma and undiagnosed mental illnesses seem to have fucked up a lot of the cast of NPCs to the point that it's really, *really* effecting them. As someone with some pretty "Oh you must be a bad person" mental illnesses (Schizophrenia chief among them) it'd be pretty hype to see Willy actually grow as a person because he got his shit kicked in by his son tbh.

Scary is just gas lighting like crazy. She’s the most problematic character. I’m glad link called her out. Her daddy issues are such a problem but I’m sure Beth has some cool story for her. Still not a fan of scary I think she’s a shitty person like most girls that act like that around that age (including myself)

I love the meta-humor in this episode: the idea that Anthony keeps saying that he's not a good DM. Meanwhile, Scary is waaay worse at DMing... and it's actually pretty funny, just for a scene, at least.
