Roommate's out, food's twenty minutes away, so Caleb is on the couch naked with his hand around himself and nothing to hide from. Then a key turns in the lock. The roommate walks in — with the courier standing right behind him holding the bag. Caleb doesn't get to grab a cushion. He has to stand there, read out the OTP, take the bag, and say "thanks" while the roommate edges past him to the inner room and doesn't quite shut the door.
