The 1811 Slave Revolt Reenactment

On November 8th and 9th, 2019, hundreds of African-American reenactors marched twenty six miles through two parishes to commemorate the Louisiana Slave Revolt of 1811, the largest slave rebellion in American history. The event was organized by artist Dread Scott, with the assistance of several New Orleans-based foundations. I had the opportunity to attend the reenactment and get some run-and-gun footage to share with y'all.
