Hi Dave and Jamie, the amazon is mine. She is 25, adopted from a rescue. This video was taken a couple days after I brought her home. She got a clean bill of health from the vet. She doesn’t do this all the time and only when I approach the cage which made me think it was a sexual thing. She seems to REALLY like me a lot

Hi guys, BG is Dexter. He was clipped all his life & wings are almost all grown out. He can't fly but he can crawl down from that perch to the chair. This is NOT a happy dance. This is one of his "dances" when I'm around especially if I'm standing/walking/breathing. If i was to get close he'd lunge at me to bite me. If I was to sit down (pushing perch away so he can't bite me) he'd calm a little & usually sit right behind me (given the chance he'd bite). He'll do similar on his Java tree & then bite the tree or attack a toy. If I sit down he'll calm down. He also will put up his foot like he wants to step up (no pinning, no feathers but a slight arch to his neck & beak will be open a little wider) then when you approach....bam macaw blood draw. I have to pad up & usually use a perch to move him. He's a master at bait & switch. I'm making progress & he isn't trying to attack me WHILE I'm holding/moving him anymore. Y'all get to meet this sweet monster in June at class. 🤣

Melanie, I was thinking the same thing, that it was a little hormonal. I recently fostered a Goffin's cockatoo (male) who would constantly rearrange himself when I had him perched on my hand. He wasn't necessarily trying to rub on me, but almost on his own legs, if that makes any sense. Once I figured out what was going on, I stopped picking him up at all when he was going through those "high" points, but he would walk around, kind of like your bird, and kind of bounce on his own legs. It would not be a surprise if it is hormones, particularly if she came to you on a diet and sleep habits that aren't ideal for hormone regulating. She's adorable, though!

Whoever is playing Liebestraum, I love it. :D Your playing is beautiful and I hope your bird appreciates you. <3

I was thinking the same thing about the Amazon. It looked like it was trying to position its vent over the bend in its leg.

Hi! That was our Sun Conure- Beanie. 🤗 He is super content with us (mom/dad/son/daughter). He doesn’t necessarily pick a favorite person, but loves the piano. He has loved it from the beginning, when he was a baby bird. He thinks he is much bigger than he is, often telling the other animals in the house how to behave. He does talk! He says hello and bye-bye. He also calls to our son, when it is time to wake up. He imitates my tone, which makes me laugh! You will meet Beanie in Magnolia. That was my son playing piano, he also loves it! ❤️

Wow my oldie used to be as aggressive I want to assure you that intentional clear communication, Diet, enrichment, health and wellbeing, and figuring out what help he needs can help tremendously. Yes there are bad days, my African Grey was really discontent and probably upset about something yesterday and he became beaky over the last week and it was sucky because I couldn’t really do anything to fix his emotions at that moment, but new day clean slate, gonna swap some of his toys to rule out boredom, gonna try to have a training session and bathing session in a different time of the day and see if he’s more receptive and less upset, gonna give him some sunlight too - and I hope he has a wonderful day today as usual.

Sorry hit the wrong button! But Rune the velociraptor never seems to not misbehave when there’s a camera out.

Lol it happens to me all the time! And usually patreon app has a bug that doesn’t let me edit my comments and I tend to delete my previous and type it all over again 😂

I tried to figure out how to delete but I couldn’t. Lol. I was watching during my lunch break and had to get back to work and just gave up 😂
