A few while ago I created my first AI assisted artwork. I am really hyped up with this tool and I think it can help me significantly in everything I do. I'm a one man studio. I'm doing writing, drawing, animating, researching, editing, directing, and sometimes even manage some people. And the most difficult of them all, shilling. There's no doubt this will lighten up my workload and improve what I do.

But as of late, messy Ai art protest are everywhere. I tried to engage the conversation but these guys are too emotional and insecure. There's too much noise and division out there and it's been bugging me. This could be a factor whether or not you are willing to support me to the point that you wanna give me money.

So I wanna know. Will you still support me if I add AI to my toolkit?

You're an artist, as far as I'm concerned you can use whichever tools you feel you need to.

Uthan The Perverse

You can use AI tools but I'd suggest not depending on them too much. As in use it as what it is: a tool. Use it to get ideas or outlines but also add some of your own effort to make the art truly yours. Simply using AI generated art as-is is just lazy and low effort.

I understand. I plan to be assisted by AI. I'm still gonna have my touch on everything I put out

I won't throw in a vote because my option isn't here. You can do AI, but I'd prefer if you mentioned when you did. The truth is, I like your art as it is. When I see it, I can easily tell that it's yours because of its perfections and imperfections both. If AI is there to augment your style, I'm less likely to frown upon it. But if your style starts turning into something else, I probably won't support it. A good example of something I prefer... I personally think in the comparison between your OG and AI-assisted art, Halina's OG eyes and hair are sharper and more defined. AI art tends to be blurry and low-detail, so I would hope you try to avoid that rather than lean into it.

Dakzky

tnx for the feedback. I guess I will need to improve on those areas

Uthan The Perverse

My main concern is that art "touched" by AI tends to have some uncanniness about them, which may or may not be a departure from the original art style.

Dakzky

Well based on my experience 90% of the work was done by me. Drawing the OG 70%, AI image generation 10% , curation and editing is 20%. Although process may vary depending on the image but I can assure you that it won't go 50% on my end.

I haven't kept up with the AI controversy. If it helps with workflow, then it might make sense to use it, BUT hopefully that is not at the risk of art style. If you are able to do more without losing your style then by all means.

Dakzky

Happy to hear from a fellow artist. It's always been a struggle keeping up in this increasingly fast paced world of content creation.

I think I preferred the version you did yourself but I trust you to use AI in a way that still creates great art :)
