Chapter 32 (Patreon)

Vroom—
Kenjaku and Uraume sped down the road in a Buick GSX.
“Is there a car behind us?”
Uraume glanced back and noticed a vehicle rapidly closing in on them.
Uraume narrowed their eyes.
“Kenjaku, it looks like they’re coming straight for us.”
“It seems to be those two Special Grade Sorcerers from earlier,” Kenjaku said calmly. “I knew we should’ve killed at least one of them.”
“They’re catching up.”
“If they catch us,” Kenjaku said, their voice turning cold, “then kill them, Uraume.”
Uraume looked at Kenjaku, then quietly prepared to use a Cursed Technique.
Whoosh—
Kenjaku suddenly saw a flash of golden light streak past their vision.
The next instant, the road ahead exploded, leaving a massive crater in its wake.
Screeech!
Kenjaku yanked the steering wheel hard, the Buick drifting violently as it barely avoided plunging straight into the crater.
“What are you doing!?” Uraume shouted, shaken by the sudden swerve.
“Dodging the swords falling from the sky,” Kenjaku replied through clenched teeth.
“The movement is too violent. There’s no way I can aim like this.”
“Who said you had to aim?” Kenjaku snapped. “Just fire.”
Uraume’s eyes chilled.
“You said it. Then I won’t hold back.”
Leaning halfway out the window, Uraume thrust out a hand and unleashed several ice shards in rapid succession.
Inside the pursuing car, Yuki Tsukumo saw the attack coming and instantly jerked the steering wheel.
“Holy shit!!!”
Ragnar Kagenou was slammed hard against the car door, silently praying the vehicle had actually been built to survive abuse.
“Yuki! Are you trying to kill me!?”
“Kill you my foot!” Yuki shot back. “If I hadn’t dodged, we’d be ice statues by now!”
Ragnar clicked his tongue.
“What are you panicking for? Look at the way she’s firing. It’d be a miracle if any of those actually hit us.”
Yuki went speechless for half a second.
“Then stop complaining and drive yourself!”
“Fine. I’ll do it!”
Neither of them hesitated.
Yuki directly climbed over into the passenger seat.
Ragnar stared at her.
“Wait, I was just saying that. Are you actually serious?”
“Less talking. Get in the driver’s seat,” Yuki snapped. “I’ll handle that white-haired freak.”
Damn it.
They were moving at 180 kilometers per hour. One mistake and both of them were dead.
Damn it!
Who was scared of who!?
Grinding his teeth, Ragnar started climbing over from the passenger side.
“Are you done yet!?” Yuki shouted.
Ragnar finally dropped into the driver’s seat and grabbed the wheel.
“Fasten your seatbelt. This is about to get rough.”
Yuki grinned.
“I like rough.”
The two looked at each other—
Then bumped fists.
Ahead of them, Kenjaku suddenly heard a shrill screech from behind, so sharp it sounded like something crawling out of hell.
Bang!
Crash!!
The moment Ragnar’s car slammed into Kenjaku’s Buick, the entire vehicle lurched sideways and shook so violently it nearly flipped over on the spot.
Uraume gripped the seat tightly.
“What lunatics...”
Back in the Challenger, Yuki clicked her tongue.
“Ragnar, that was way too violent. We could’ve died too.”
Ragnar didn’t even look at her.
“What? Scared?”
“You just focus on driving. I’ll figure something out.”
Yuki leaned out and fired at the car ahead.
There was no technique to it at all.
Just keep shooting and let the god of aim sort it out.
Ragnar, meanwhile, shouted toward the car in front:
“Why are you running? If you want to leave, hand over my Prison Realm first!”
The Dodge Challenger surged forward and finally pulled alongside Kenjaku’s Buick GSX.
Ragnar turned his head and stared directly at the driver.
“Found you at last, Itadori Kaori... no—more accurately, the most evil jujutsu sorcerer in history, Kenjaku.”
Kenjaku’s expression immediately darkened.
How could someone from this era know that name?
And that title—
“The most evil jujutsu sorcerer in history” was one Kenjaku had earned during the Meiji era, after taking over Kamo Noritoshi’s body.
The instant Kenjaku was distracted, Ragnar violently spun the wheel and rammed their car again.
Boom!!!
Kenjaku’s Buick was sent flying off the road, rolling over dozens of times before crashing hard into the roadside.
Screeech—
Ragnar brought the Challenger to a stop, then stepped out with Yuki.
“Ugh...” Yuki leaned against the car and dry-heaved twice. “Next time, don’t drive. You’re even crazier than I am.”
Ragnar was completely fine.
After all, he had been the one holding the wheel. He wasn’t the one getting tossed around in the passenger seat like laundry in a washing machine.
“Alright, alright. Dry-heaving twice is enough,” Ragnar said. “Don’t let them get away.”
As he said that, he patted Yuki on the back.
She rolled her eyes at him.
Easy for you to say. You weren’t sitting in the passenger seat. Anyone would’ve gotten wrecked by that.
“Fine. You rest for a bit,” Ragnar said at last, sounding slightly embarrassed. “I’ll go deal with them.”
Bang!
The Buick’s door was blasted off by an unseen force.
Kenjaku emerged from the overturned car with Uraume.
“Uraume...”
Kenjaku quickly realized Uraume had nearly blacked out from the impact.
Ragnar stepped forward, his voice cold.
“Kenjaku. Give back my Prison Realm.”
He fixed them with a sharp look.
“Or you’ll answer for it right here.”
Kenjaku narrowed their eyes.
“Who exactly are you... and why do you know me?”
Ragnar pressed a hand to his forehead, already looking annoyed.
“Didn’t you hear what this King said, mongrel?”
The next instant, more than a thousand golden ripples unfurled behind Ragnar, instantly dyeing heaven and earth in gold.
The night itself seemed to ignite.
The moment Kenjaku saw those iconic golden portals, they understood exactly who they were facing.
“Jujutsu High’s Special Grade Sorcerer... Ragnar Kagenou.”
No one’s technique was as gaudy and unmistakable as Ragnar’s. There was no mistaking him.
Ragnar’s eyes turned colder.
“So you really did ignore my warning...”
Kenjaku suddenly made a strange hand sign.
Ragnar gave a disdainful snort.
“Trying to disappear this early?”
“That’s pretty damn disrespectful to this King.”
At Ragnar’s command, thousands of Noble Phantasms descended upon the earth like a meteor shower.
“Cursed Technique Lapse.”
Cursed Technique: Anti-Gravity System
In an instant, the gravity around Kenjaku shifted.
The Noble Phantasms hurtling down lost their trajectory and crashed straight into the ground.
Though they were only C-rank Noble Phantasms, Kenjaku’s gravity-based technique still showed ridiculous utility.
So that’s how it is.
A gravity-type Cursed Technique, huh?
Interesting.
But how many times can you keep using it?
When it came to raw consumption, Ragnar feared no one.
He raised his hand again.
“Then how are you going to deal with the second wave?”
At his command, a second storm of Noble Phantasms densely filled the sky.
At the same time, Uraume, who had been lying there motionless, abruptly opened their eyes—
Only to see countless Noble Phantasms falling from above.
If they didn’t move now, they’d be skewered into a pincushion.
“Ice Formation!”
Uraume exhaled a freezing current into the sky.
The frigid blast froze most of the Noble Phantasms in midair.
The rest were deflected by Kenjaku with a burst of Cursed Energy.
“Wait!” Kenjaku shouted, seeing Ragnar prepare another attack. “There’s no need for this to turn into a pointless battle!”
Ragnar didn’t care in the slightest.
The Gate of Babylon reloaded once more, golden ripples blooming again behind him.
“Save your last words for hell.”
“Damn it...”
Kenjaku’s face darkened. Ragnar had no intention of listening.
“Cursed Technique Reversal—”
At the same moment, Uraume extended a hand toward Ragnar and blew out a slow, frigid breath.
“Ice Formation: Frost Calm.”
An overwhelming current of cold swept toward him.
Even before it fully arrived, Ragnar could already feel the freezing sting against his skin, sharp enough to sink straight into the bone.
And as the cold wave advanced, everything in its path was swallowed without exception—
Instantly sealed beneath a thick layer of ice.
