Chapter 58 (Patreon)

Golden radiance spread through the air like ripples across water.
“That guy is seriously…”
Mimiko Hasaba swallowed hard, her nervous gaze fixed on Ragnar Kagenou.
“Mimiko, don’t be scared. Stay beside me.”
Nanako Hasaba could feel it too.
The blond man before them was dangerous.
Ragnar slowly stood up and glanced at them.
“Do not tremble so pathetically.”
His crimson eyes swept over the two girls with casual arrogance.
“In consideration of your fear before this King, I shall overlook your disrespect.”
Then his gaze shifted.
“If you value your lives, leave.”
Suguru Geto narrowed his eyes slightly as he looked at Ragnar.
“It has been a few years, Ragnar. You seem to have grown even more troublesome.”
“Riku, come back.”
Nigi Riku clicked his tongue, bent down, and picked up his severed arm.
But before he could retreat, a golden Noble Phantasm shot through the air and pierced straight into the severed limb.
Riku’s head snapped up toward Ragnar.
“Mutt.”
Ragnar’s voice was calm, but the pressure behind it made the air sink.
“Who gave you permission to leave?”
Riku’s face twisted in anger.
“Don’t push your luck!”
Ragnar looked down at him coldly.
“You came here, acted as you pleased, and now you think you can simply walk away?”
His lips curved faintly.
“Tell me, then. Which one of us is looking down on the other?”
Riku was about to spring forward, but another golden Noble Phantasm launched straight at his head.
A Cursed Spirit suddenly appeared in front of him, taking the fatal blow in his place.
Even so—
“Gah…!”
The Noble Phantasm tore through the Cursed Spirit and pierced Riku’s chest.
If he had not known Reverse Cursed Technique, that strike would have killed him on the spot.
“Now, now.”
Suguru Geto stepped in front of Riku with a thin smile.
“This is not the time for that. There will be another chance.”
The Curse Users behind Geto also moved forward.
At the same time, everyone from Jujutsu High immediately went on guard.
Seeing that Ragnar had no intention of backing down, Geto quickly continued.
“We only came here today to inform you of something. Nothing more.”
His gaze moved from Gojo to Ragnar.
“There is no need for us to start killing each other here, Ragnar.”
At that moment, Satoru Gojo stepped forward.
“Then get to the point already.”
His tone was light, but his eyes were not smiling.
“What exactly did you come here to say?”
Geto’s smile widened.
Since Ragnar had not attacked immediately, there was still room to speak.
“I came to issue a declaration of war.”
Then, before everyone present, Suguru Geto raised his voice.
“On December twenty-fourth.”
“At sunset.”
“We will begin the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons.”
The atmosphere froze.
Yuta Okkotsu and the others felt their hearts tighten.
“The locations will be Tokyo, Shinjuku—the crucible of curses.”
“And Kyoto—the sacred ground of jujutsu.”
As Geto spoke, his gaze drifted toward Rika Orimoto again and again.
“We will release thousands of Cursed Spirits in both places.”
His smile turned almost ecstatic.
“And the order given to them will be simple.”
“Kill them all.”
A chill ran through the students.
“If you do not wish to witness hell with your own eyes, then stop us with everything you have.”
Geto’s expression slowly twisted with excitement.
“Let us curse each other to our hearts’ content.”
Just then, Nanako suddenly spoke up.
“Ah! Lord Geto! The shop is about to close!”
Geto’s expression froze.
Then he blinked.
“…Is it that late already?”
A second later, his smile returned as if nothing had happened.
“My apologies, Satoru, Ragnar.”
He placed a hand lightly over his chest.
“These two have been insisting on eating crepes on Takeshita Street, so we will be taking our leave.”
Nanako and Mimiko immediately brightened.
Geto sighed softly.
“Honestly, I still do not understand what is so appealing about that place. It is full of monkeys.”
Gojo stepped in front of him.
“You really think I’m just going to let you walk out after saying all that?”
Geto’s smile cooled.
“I would advise against it.”
His voice dropped.
“This place is already filled with my Cursed Spirits. The moment either of you moves, the students die.”
A huge, fat, wide-eyed Cursed Spirit descended from the air, landing with a heavy pressure that shook the surroundings.
Geto looked toward Ragnar.
“Your ability is a bad matchup for me, Ragnar. I know that.”
Then his smile sharpened.
“But you still need time to activate it. Even a single instant is enough for me to kill them.”
“So, if you want my head…”
His eyes narrowed.
“Take it during the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons.”
Ragnar stared at him for a moment.
“What you said is not entirely wrong.”
Then he gave a faint, dismissive smile.
“And since you have already chosen the date, this King is not so unreasonable as to deny you the stage.”
Geto quietly exhaled in relief.
“Good. I am glad we understand each other.”
He turned away.
“Then, everyone… I will see you on the battlefield.”
Just as Geto was about to leave, Ragnar’s voice stopped him.
“I heard something interesting.”
Geto paused.
“You now call ordinary humans monkeys, do you not?”
“That is correct.”
Geto glanced back.
“Do you disagree, Ragnar?”
Ragnar chuckled.
“This time, this King will teach you something.”
His gaze turned cold.
“There is no real difference between ordinary humans and jujutsu sorcerers.”
Geto stared at him for a second.
Then he laughed.
“Hahaha… No difference?”
His smile became twisted.
“Monkeys are monkeys. Only jujutsu sorcerers are truly human.”
Still, he looked amused.
“But very well. I look forward to seeing how you intend to overturn my view.”
With that, Geto and his faction of Curse Users rose into the air on flying Cursed Spirits and left.
Inside Jujutsu High’s conference room, the atmosphere was suffocating.
Ijichi Kiyotaka stood at the front of the table, holding a thick stack of intelligence reports on Suguru Geto.
After taking a deep breath, he began his explanation.
“Everyone… Suguru Geto is a Special Grade Curse User whose technique is Cursed Spirit Manipulation.”
“He can forcibly absorb naturally born Cursed Spirits that are not bound by a master-servant relationship and control them at will.”
Ijichi paused, giving everyone a moment to process that.
Then he continued.
“Furthermore, Geto has established a religious organization under his control.”
“Through that group, he gathers followers and collects Cursed Spirits.”
He adjusted his glasses, his expression tense.
“According to our current information, the number of Cursed Spirits under his command may already exceed two thousand.”
Masamichi Yaga, who had remained silent until now, finally spoke.
“Even if that number is accurate, most of the Cursed Spirits under him should be small fry below Grade 2.”
His eyes narrowed.
“Nothing worth making a fuss over individually.”
Then he added.
“And even if we include the Curse Users under him, their number should not exceed fifty.”
Before anyone else could answer, Gojo Satoru leaned back in his chair and spoke.
“Yeah. That’s exactly why it’s creepy.”
The room went quiet.
Gojo’s voice was casual, but the meaning behind it was anything but.
“Geto isn’t stupid. He wouldn’t start a war he had no chance of winning.”
Yaga clicked his tongue.
“Damn it. What the hell is that guy planning?”
His expression turned grim.
“Notify the graduates and the three great families.”
Then he looked toward Ijichi.
“Also, request support from the Ianu Jujutsu Sorcerer Alliance.”
Ijichi nodded immediately.
“Yes, sir.”
Yaga’s face hardened.
“This will be an all-out war.”
His voice dropped heavily across the room.
“This time, we will completely exorcise that curse known as Suguru Geto.”
After the meeting ended, Gojo Satoru found Ragnar Kagenou, who had not attended.
Ragnar was standing outside alone, away from the noise.
Gojo walked over with his usual relaxed smile and tossed him a can of iced soda.
“What are you doing out here?”
Ragnar caught it with one hand.
Gojo tilted his head.
“You skipped the whole strategy meeting, you know.”
Ragnar opened the can with a sharp pop and took a sip.
“As you can see.”
Gojo stared at him.
“…Drinking soda?”
Ragnar glanced at him calmly.
“Preparing.”
Gojo blinked once.
Then he laughed.
“Wow. That’s the most arrogant way I’ve ever heard someone describe doing absolutely nothing.”
Ragnar’s lips curved slightly.
“Only the weak need to gather in a room and comfort themselves with plans.”
Gojo grinned.
“You know, most people would call that teamwork.”
“Most people are not this King.”
“Yeah, yeah. There it is.”
