Chapter 133 (Patreon)

Within the dense mist, Haruta Shigemo wandered around in frustration, irritated that he had yet to find any jujutsu sorcerers to attack.
At that moment, Nobara Kugisaki and Akari Nitta, who had become separated from the Zen’in group fighting in the distance, crossed paths with him.
“Wait, Nitta.”
Akari stopped. “What is it?”
Nobara stared into the mist ahead of them, tightening her grip on her hammer.
“There’s someone up ahead.”
“Huh?”
A figure emerged from the mist, casually waving one hand.
Haruta Shigemo wore a disappointed smile.
“I was hoping to catch you by surprise. But since you already noticed me, I suppose there’s no point hiding.”
Nobara narrowed her eyes.
“Who are you?”
Haruta’s gaze shifted towards Akari, who was dressed in a suit.
“Oh? A woman in a suit? Lucky me.”
He raised his short blade, dragged his tongue along its edge, and grinned.
“Everyone I’ve run into so far has been a man. I was getting tired of cutting them down.”
Nobara immediately pulled out several nails.
“Nitta, find somewhere to hide. This won’t take long.”
Akari knew she would only get in Nobara’s way if she remained there. Without hesitation, she turned and ran into the mist.
However, Haruta had no intention of allowing an unarmed assistant manager to escape.
After all, there was nothing he enjoyed more than tormenting someone weaker than himself.
Even while confronting Nobara, he could still command his blade to pursue Akari.
Akari suddenly caught her foot on something.
“Ah!”
She fell to the ground and looked up, only to see the blade hovering mere inches from her face.
“No… Don’t…”
The weapon shot towards her.
Bang!
The blade shattered directly in front of Akari.
“Huh?”
A woman clad in organic armour stood between her and the broken weapon.
“Assistant Manager Nitta, are you all right?”
Akari stared at her in confusion.
“Who are you?”
“Oh, right. You probably can’t recognise me like this.”
The organic helmet covering the woman’s face retracted.
“Special Grade Jujutsu Sorcerer, Rika Orimoto.”
Rika smiled reassuringly.
“I’m glad you’re safe.”
———
Nobara continued fighting Haruta with everything she had.
However, the difference in combat experience between them was too great. Little by little, Haruta gained the upper hand.
One of his attacks struck Nobara squarely in the jaw.
Her vision blurred, and she nearly lost consciousness as her body staggered backwards.
Haruta glanced towards the direction in which Akari had fled.
“Oh dear… How did my blade break?”
He tilted his head, his smile gradually fading.
“That’s strange. I can sense something terrifying over there.”
An instinctive chill ran through him.
“Maybe I should leave.”
Haruta raised his weapon, intending to kill Nobara before escaping.
Before he could bring it down, a slender figure with long, flowing hair appeared behind him.
“Where do you think you’re going?”
Haruta glanced over his shoulder.
When he saw another young woman standing there, his grin immediately returned.
“Where am I going? Obviously, I’m going to—”
Rika swung her fist.
Crack!
Haruta’s arm and several of his ribs shattered instantly.
His entire body became a blur as he was sent hurtling through the air.
Boom!
He slammed into a concrete wall with enough force to crack it, splattering blood across the surface.
“Ugh…”
Haruta trembled as he grabbed the wall and forced himself back onto his feet.
I’m going to die!
Had his Cursed Technique not activated, that single blow would undoubtedly have killed him.
Haruta Shigemo’s Cursed Technique, Miracles, erased his memories of the small miracles he experienced in everyday life and stored them as markings beneath his eyes. Whenever his life was in danger, one of those miracles would be consumed to save him.
Rika looked mildly surprised when she saw him standing again.
“I didn’t expect you to survive that.”
“M-Monster…!”
Rika disappeared from his sight.
Boom!
Another merciless fist struck him.
“Aaagh! I’m sorry! I’m sorry!”
In the span of a single second, Rika shattered Haruta’s limbs.
Had his Cursed Technique not continued consuming the miracles he had stored, his internal organs, heart, and brain would already have been pulverised.
Haruta collapsed into a blood-covered heap, his broken body barely retaining its shape.
Tears streamed down his face, mixing with the blood coating his cheeks.
“Please… Don’t kill me!”
Rika looked down at him without the slightest trace of sympathy.
“Talking to filth like you makes me sick.”
She reached down and seized Haruta’s head with one hand.
Haruta stared up at her in terror.
“No… Don’t…”
Rika’s fingers tightened around his skull.
“How many more times can your Cursed Technique save you?”
“Aaaaaagh!”
———
A dark figure descended onto the top of S Tower.
Boom!
The instant he landed, a violent shock wave erupted across the rooftop.
Yuta Okkotsu steadied himself against the force and stared through the cloud of dust.
“So this is the threat Ragnar warned me about…”
Just as Yuta prepared to attack, two voices called out from behind him.
“Senpai!”
“Okkotsu-senpai.”
Yuta glanced back and saw Yuji Itadori and Megumi Fushiguro arriving on the rooftop.
“Stay back. This man is extremely dangerous.”
Yuji looked towards the figure slowly emerging from the dust.
Even from a distance, he could feel an overwhelming pressure coming from him.
Megumi, however, experienced a strange sense of familiarity when he saw the man’s face.
Toji Fushiguro stepped out of the dust and looked at the weapon in Yuta’s hand.
“A jujutsu sorcerer, huh?”
His eyes lingered on the sword.
“That weapon looks useful. I happen to need something decent.”
The moment those words left his mouth, Toji vanished.
His fist shot towards Yuta’s face with terrifying speed.
Whoosh!
Yuta barely managed to move his head aside.
Toji’s fist grazed his cheek, leaving several bloody scratches behind.
Fast.
Yuta’s eyes sharpened.
So this is Toji Fushiguro—the Sorcerer Killer Ragnar told me about. A man with no cursed energy who could slaughter jujutsu sorcerers with ease.
Yuta drew Enma with a reverse grip.
The blade appeared beside Toji’s neck in an instant.
Yuta’s attack was extraordinarily fast.
However, against Toji Fushiguro, it still was not fast enough.
Toji twisted his body at an almost impossible angle, allowing the blade to pass beside his throat.
He immediately countered with another punch.
Sizzle!
Yuta hurriedly reinforced both arms with cursed energy and crossed them in front of himself.
Toji’s fist crashed into his guard.
The impact forced Yuta backwards.
Heavy.
Yuta gritted his teeth.
Can someone without cursed energy truly possess this much physical strength? Is this the result of his Heavenly Restriction?
Yuta quickly put some distance between them.
It would be difficult to defeat Toji without using Enma’s ability.
Toji crushed the rooftop beneath his feet and charged forward like a blur.
“Stop!”
Black markings spread across Yuta’s mouth as he activated Cursed Speech.
The command struck Toji directly.
However, his body remained still for only a single second.
Yuta’s expression tightened.
Cursed Speech can only restrain him for one second?
Click.
Yuta sheathed Enma.
A crisp ringing sound echoed from the blade.
As Toji continued charging, his instincts suddenly warned him of the danger directly ahead.
He immediately leapt into the air.
A slash tore through the space where he had been standing.
Toji looked down at it.
“A slash appearing out of nowhere?”
Yuta placed one hand against Enma’s hilt.
“You avoided the first one.”
His eyes followed Toji’s airborne body.
“But how will you evade the next one while you’re in mid-air?”
Yuta released another Dimensional Slash.
The space-cutting attack erupted directly in front of Toji.
Slash!
“What?”
Toji forcibly twisted his body in mid-air.
He avoided a direct hit, but the Dimensional Slash still left several wounds across his arm.
After landing, Toji looked at the blood running down his skin.
“That Cursed Tool in your hand might be the strongest I’ve ever—”
He suddenly stopped.
A memory surfaced in his mind.
He remembered a man surrounded by golden light who possessed an almost limitless number of Cursed Tools, each more formidable than the last.
Toji fell silent for a moment.
“No. Forget it.”
He wiped the blood from his arm and looked towards Yuta once more.
“I hope that man isn’t dead.”
A fierce smile appeared on his face.
“I still want to fight him again.”
