Chapter 183 (Patreon)

Seven Swords of Sin hung above the skies of the reborn world.
Beneath them, the Anti-Savior Beast appeared once more.
A colossal black sun rose behind its body, smothering the heavens in darkness.
“How can this be…?”
Ragnar Kagenou had destroyed Sukuna’s original body with Excalibur. The form that now emerged, however, was something far more unnatural—a grotesque fusion of the Beast and an enormous black tree.
Its countless roots spread beneath the earth, while twisted branches reached toward the heavens like grasping arms.
“Those swords…”
Ragnar raised his gaze toward the Seven Swords of Sin.
Each blade embodied one of humanity’s seven original sins, and an invisible connection bound all seven of them to Sukuna.
“The flowers…”
Shoko Ieiri looked down.
Black flowers had begun blooming across the emerald grass.
“Flowers?”
Gojo lowered his gaze toward them.
Through the Six Eyes, he could see countless distorted souls writhing within every blossom. Self-destructive impulses and overwhelming malice were concealed inside their petals, waiting to contaminate anyone who approached.
“Do not go near those flowers!”
Gojo reacted quickly.
The others were not so fortunate.
The black cursed flowers had already spread across the land. Waves of fear, despair, hatred, and resentment poured from them, invading the minds of the surviving humans.
As those emotions continued to accumulate, a single conviction began taking root within their hearts.
Humanity had to be destroyed.
Once that belief consumed their minds, their bodies followed.
Flesh warped beneath the influence of cursed energy. Human forms began changing, gradually transforming into cursed spirits.
“Agh…!”
One of the sorcerers collapsed.
Half of his body had already become that of a curse. What little remained of his human consciousness desperately clung to life.
“H-Help me…”
Shoko immediately stepped forward, but Gojo extended an arm and stopped her.
“He can’t be saved.”
Bang!
The last traces of the sorcerer’s humanity disappeared.
What emerged in his place was an unstable cursed spirit composed of mismatched limbs and distorted flesh.
“Graaah!”
Gojo raised one hand.
“Cursed Technique Reversal: Red.”
A sphere of crimson repulsive force struck the curse and erased it instantly.
“Everyone, fall back!” Gojo shouted. “Do not remain near those flowers for long!”
The surviving sorcerers swallowed hard and hurriedly retreated.
None of them wanted to share that fate.
——————
Golden ripples spread across the sky.
A barrage of A-rank Noble Phantasms shot from the Gate of Babylon and struck the Sword of Envy.
The impact shattered one corner of its blade.
Thump.
Thump.
“A heartbeat?”
Ragnar’s expression sharpened.
He had not imagined it.
For a single instant, Sukuna’s presence had appeared within that space.
“So that is where you have been hiding.”
A faint smile touched Ragnar’s lips.
“Your game of concealment ends here, Sukuna.”
Sukuna had most likely used an Authority of the Beast to turn the Seven Swords of Sin into anchors. His true body was hidden somewhere beyond ordinary space, while the swords maintained his connection to the world.
Whoosh!
As if sensing that their secret had been exposed, all seven swords shot into the air and disappeared into the void.
They were attempting to escape.
Ragnar’s smile vanished.
“To flee through space before me… how absurd.”
Ea began to rotate.
The Sword of Rupture released a crimson storm, shattering the surrounding space into countless fragments.
The Seven Swords of Sin were torn from the void before they could escape.
At the same moment, countless black branches lunged from the body of the Anti-Savior Beast.
Their pointed ends tore through the air with deafening force.
Boom!
A golden round shield appeared before Ragnar and stopped the branches.
“Of course. I nearly forgot that your reconstructed body could still move.”
Enkidu—the Chains of Heaven—surged from the Gate of Babylon.
The divine chains twisted around tens of thousands of branches, suppressing them before they could strike again.
A second barrage of Noble Phantasms descended.
Under the relentless bombardment, the captured branches were reduced to black dust.
Ragnar prepared to pursue the Seven Swords—
“Guh!”
His body suddenly convulsed.
Blood ran from his eyes, ears, nose, and mouth.
“What…?”
Ragnar’s expression changed for the first time.
“When did you strike me?”
That should have been impossible.
He had blocked every attack launched by Sukuna’s reconstructed body. No cursed energy had penetrated his defenses, and there had been no sign of a curse invading him from within.
Yet the damage was real.
“This is not an attack.”
A hideous voice emerged from deep within the Anti-Savior Beast.
“It is causality.”
——————
At the same time, the Seven Swords of Sin began searching for suitable human vessels.
The sins contained within them could reveal their full power only after taking root in human bodies.
Black lightning tore across the sky.
Seven spatial passages opened across the battlefield.
“What are those?”
“Spatial passages?”
Satoru Gojo, Suguru Geto, Yuta Okkotsu, and Rika Orimoto watched as a figure stepped through the first passage.
Thud.
“Been a while, Satoru Gojo.”
A tall man emerged from the darkness.
His muscular build, dark clothing, and overwhelming physical presence were all painfully familiar.
Gojo’s eyes narrowed.
“Toji Fushiguro.”
The Sin of Pride—Toji Fushiguro.
Six more spatial passages opened behind him, each carrying another vessel chosen by one of the Seven Swords.
“Toji Fushiguro…”
Maki Zenin stared at him.
She had spent time training under Toji before. During that period, he had taught her more about fighting with a body freed from cursed energy than anyone else ever could.
Now he stood on the opposing side.
Toji glanced at her.
“Well, if it isn’t Maki. I thought Sukuna’s cursed energy would have finished you.”
“Sorry to disappoint you. I survived.”
Toji smiled.
“After I kill Gojo, you and I should settle things properly. Two fighters bearing Heavenly Restriction—it should be an interesting match.”
Gojo stepped forward.
“You plan to kill me?”
His blue eyes shone behind his blindfold.
“Did you forget who killed you the first time?”
Toji reached for his weapon.
“Then do it again.”
Thud.
Another figure emerged from the second spatial passage.
“Maki… I’m glad you’re still alive.”
A familiar voice filled with resentment drifted from the darkness.
“If you had died, I wouldn’t have known where to direct my revenge.”
Maki’s expression turned cold.
“Naoya. Even death couldn’t make you disappear.”
“Heh… Of course not.”
Naoya Zenin crawled from an ancient coffin.
His curse-born body was coated in dark fluid, while his lower half had transformed into a grotesque mass of muscle surrounding an enormous eye.
“I am a cursed spirit now—a curse born for the sole purpose of taking revenge on you!”
The Sin of Envy—Naoya Zenin.
More familiar figures followed through the remaining passages.
“Tch. Toji Fushiguro…”
Hajime Kashimo tilted his head.
“If it weren’t for—”
He stopped himself and dismissed the thought with an irritated click of his tongue.
“Never mind. I need someone to test this body against.”
His eyes moved across the battlefield before settling on Rika Orimoto.
Kashimo crooked one finger toward her.
“You. You look strong.”
Lightning crackled around his body.
“Come fight me.”
Rika’s eyes narrowed.
“Another arrogant fighter.”
The immense cursed energy of the Queen of Curses enveloped her body.
A living suit of armor unfolded across her skin, its individual sections shifting like a creature before locking tightly together.
“I was beginning to wonder whether I would find a worthy opponent.”
The Sin of Wrath—Hajime Kashimo.
Geto turned toward the enormous creature emerging from the next passage.
Eight serpentine heads rose above the battlefield, each releasing a roar powerful enough to shake the surrounding ruins.
“I’ll deal with the giant one.”
Geto stepped forward.
“I once absorbed a fragment of its lingering curse. That gives me some connection to it.”
“ROOOAR!”
The eight-headed serpent struck the earth, sending cracks spreading in every direction.
Geto examined it with a grave expression.
“The difference between a remnant and the true body is even greater than I expected.”
The Sin of Sloth—Yamata no Orochi.
From the next passage came a pale figure surrounded by freezing air.
“No one will be permitted to interfere with Lord Sukuna.”
Uraume’s cold voice swept across the battlefield.
“Every last one of you will die here.”
Nobara Kugisaki stepped forward, resting her hammer against her shoulder.
“You have a great deal to say for someone I haven’t hammered into place yet.”
She flicked a nail between her fingers and launched it.
Crack!
An eruption of freezing air swept across the space between them.
The nail froze in midair.
“Those who oppose Lord Sukuna will be executed by my hand,” Uraume declared.
Nobara tightened her grip around her hammer.
“You truly believe that, don’t you?”
The Sin of Greed—Uraume.
“The next cursed spirit is mine.”
Yuta Okkotsu drew his sword.
His eyes briefly shifted toward Toji.
“He didn’t remain dead after that attack…”
Still, Toji was Gojo’s opponent. Yuta had no intention of interfering unless his teacher needed him.
Instead, he turned toward the curse emerging from the next passage.
Its nine tails unfolded behind it, and crimson eyes opened along each one.
“This cursed energy is incredibly dense,” Yuta said. “You must have taken countless lives.”
Tamamo-no-Mae Incarnate regarded him silently.
The eyes upon its tails narrowed as one.
The Sin of Gluttony—Tamamo-no-Mae Incarnate.
“Sister…”
Megumi Fushiguro stared at the woman standing before him.
Her face was identical to Tsumiki’s.
However, the expression she wore could never have belonged to his sister.
“Your sister?”
Yorozu tilted her head.
“Oh, I remember now. Tsumiki kept calling out for her little brother.”
Megumi’s expression changed.
“What did you say?”
Yorozu smiled.
“That must be you, then.”
She leaned forward with amused curiosity.
“Little brother.”
Megumi brought his hands together.
His shadow expanded beneath his feet.
From its depths, a colossal figure began to rise.
The wheel above its head turned.
The Eight-Handled Sword Divergent Sila Divine General Mahoraga crawled from the shadows and stood behind Megumi.
Yorozu’s smile widened.
“Now this is interesting.”
The Sin of Lust—Yorozu.
