I have been really looking forward to these last few episodes 👀 The vault is huge and I do feel quite a bit better knowing that solo has been locked in a space with a bed and lots of things he could do not just a metal room like a cell. Maybe that’s why he hasn’t gone stark raving mad! He’s had a lifetimes worth of information and knowledge to keep him busy. I honestly don’t love that mechanical are starting up a rebellion, although I can see why they would want to. But I think they’re very clever to switch off all the power and prove that IT has its own generator and backup power to prove their point about them lying. Someone shouts “hey why does IT still have power” (I have to stop here for now but I will continue when I watch the rest of the episode)

These episodes just keep getting better. I really liked how well this one showed the different style each character went about getting what they wanted (could be called leadership style). Bernard is an outright authoritarian, Sims is very manipulative, Solo is direct and child like, and both Knox and Jules are cooperative. Loved it. On the whole diving thing, you’re right to doubt it. 8 levels at 40 ft each means she’s diving about 320ft (100m) deep. TLDR; the generally recognized limit for regular air is 130ft (40m) with only about 25 minutes to get down and do stuff before you have to come back up. For the curious and dorky (like me): both nitrogen and oxygen become dangerous at depth because our bodies absorb excessive amounts due to the pressure. Nitrogen causes an intoxicating effect called nitrogen narcosis and is usually noticeable deeper than about 100ft (30m) but can still be managed. Recreational divers can go up to 140ft (40m) on regular air but require additional qualifications to do so safely. Oxygen, on the other hand, becomes outright toxic, damaging the nervous system, lungs and eyes. Beyond 200 ft (60m) you can experience seizures. To deal with this, technical and commercial divers will breath what’s called trimix, which is reduced oxygen and nitrogen mix with helium used as an inert filler, or heliox, which is just oxygen and helium. Sometimes they will even have multiple different mixes for a single dive which can go about as deep as Jules went but that’s beyond my training and experience.

Yeah seeing everything he had to entertain himself with, is somewhat sweet in a sad way! Love that room! And yeah its a shame seeing Shirley etc, be so hell bent on what theyre doing!

'Bernard is an outright authoritarian, Sims is very manipulative, Solo is direct and child like, and both Knox and Jules are cooperative' - very good catch dude! And thank you for that extra info on the diving stuff!

ClaudieTV

Ikr! Very very good! You're always welcome!

Me in the vault: "Ya - ya, amazing books. Listen, there wouldn't be a Yo Yo and skateboard by chance?"

Since the first episode showing Jules in Silo 17 I had the feeling there is somebody watching from the upper levels. There have already been short cuts from the upper levels view (like we see in the end of this episode) in that previous one. Great episode. Great analysis. Loving it!

ClaudieTV

Yeah I always thought the same! You're welcome! Glad youre enjoying it!

I was literally holding my head at the end and asking “what the heck happened?” It feels as if each new episode is more intense than the previous one! I am afraid for Carla, the supply lady, not sure why other than Judicial has her. I heard that there is a behind the scenes for the Jule’s dive scenes, I haven’t seen it, maybe you can watch it for us! 🙏 Thanks, great episode analysis!

Actually just watched some Silo bts the other day that will be coming when all the eps are done! :)

Honestly when the rope fell I just thought that Solo got scared and ran to the vault but apparently there is something more sinister going on. I'm kinda surprised that it took this long for Solo to try and force Jules to stay. In my mind at that level of loneliness wouldn't you do anything for a bit of companionship? I really like the development that Billings got. Right now he is more in opposition to Bernard but that isn't because he is one of the rebels but very loyal to the back and his ideals. Bernard consistently bends the rules and disregards any moral compass for "the greater good". Billings on the other hand live by morality and the pact completely. I don't buy that Carmille was trying to protect Robert by not telling him. I think she was just serving face. I still don't know what her objective actually is Riveting stuff
