Well, this is first for us here.

I did not expect the poll to be so evenly split, and i find myself at a loss as to what to do.

I have no problem with publishing one chapter of each per week, so on a Sundays it would be a chapter of A Promise Kept, and on Thursdays it would be Crossing Over.

What are your thoughts on this?

If anyone wish to suggest alternatives, or any other suggestions, I'm of course open to it.

This is an unprecedented occurrence, after all.

I am really lost on how to proceed, but I will put the two most obvious solutions into the poll below, but please, do let me know your thoughts.

Nicolas P.

Guess we're not so evenly split on the solution we're voting for

Dosa Sándor

I like the first option but the clifhangers will be even worse

Jonathan

TWO story chapters a week? Don't threaten me with a good time. :D

Christopher DiLena

Just as long as the muse is keeping you going. You’re an amazing artist with what you write. Total #1 fan here.

DJ23

Tbh I like the sound of both stories. I do really enjoy the time travel ones though

Kiran Sreekantham

I recommend picking one. Both seem interesting anyway. I would hazard a guess that many of your patrons while favoring one over the other would be happy with either.

Lucy

Although I am very keen to read both, I think I would struggle to keep track with both simultaneously

Dayne R Samuel

Prologue chapters of each and then another poll.

Bosmer1701

As an alternative, how about alternate each week. One story published Sunday and Thursday. Then do the other story the next week, so on and so on.

Samson Ventura-Danziger

I would struggle to keep track of both simultaneously. How about you just pick whichever is your favourite to write?

Cal Duffy

The problem is it’s not just 2 stories, he is also writing a asoiaf one. The problem is that the last vote was 2 options where as all the other multiple options had a run away winner.

Zai

I think you are just gonna have to choose one depending on your preference and do the other story when the picked is finished. Trying to do both at once will mean it will take very long to finish both e.g if you had done this current fic at a once a week rate it would have taken you nearly 2 years to finish.

CanadianCloudy

If you think that you can keep both stories going at the same time then go for it champ. I'll be happy either way

Ondrej Mišo

It would be a pain to follow 3 stories at once (2 new + winter rose and whatever comes afterwards) so even though I voted for Crossing over, I'd rather have Promise kept until it's done and then Crossing over next (as it is a few votes ahead). Keep it simple. Choose whatever you feel more excited about writing. Decide based on what won the previous poll. Write a 15 chapter absolute crackfic. Democracy sucks, you decide.

Joe K

I like this idea. Since both are in such demand, I would say do the prologue of each to decide which story is FIRST. Have these be the next two stories either way. Keeping track of two stories at once would be rough, I sometimes already have to look back at early chapters to remind myself of something.

Cal Duffy

Not to mention rereading chapters on the website would be a chore sifting between 2 stories and the potential of possible burnout

Luke Goodon III

I'll always vote for passageways. It was one of the first fanfictions I ever read and to this day even though its uncompleted it's still one of my favorites.

RC

This is a solid idea

Ghostkiller

Please pick one, it will be difficult to read both simultaneously and would create issue

Steven Szymczak

You should choose. I will be happy regardless if you pick the one I didn't vote for.

Joe K

Whatever the solution I think they should be the next two stories since it's so split. I'd hate to say "well just pick one" and then not get the one I voted for ever.

Adrian Avila

Keep it simple. One story at a time. Your choice.

Ethiliam

Pick the one you are most excited for but don’t do both at the same time.

Justaguy33

I would say maybe do the one that wins the poll, even by a small margin but your next story after is the loser, I feel as if it might be difficult for both you as the writer and us the reader to follow effectively 3 stories at once, the 2 HP and the 1 GOT fic even if that one is a lot less frequent.

Frank B

Pairing listed for a promise kept may change votes I would love Fleur or gabi

Josh Barney

Please do one lol I think it’d be tedious to you and the reader to keep up with both stories

FirstwardenSam

I'm totally okay with two stories once a week! I really wanted to read both so the choice was hard

PsyChung

First "a promise kept" and after that there will be no poll or votes instead "Crossing over" follows after that. So we basically already voted for the next TWO story's. The order is in coalition to the current % in the poll

Lord Gasir

Really glad that one chapter per week per story is an option. Both stories look great to me. The only downside is that we wil have to wait longer for the finale of each story

Joe Stewart

Please do not do both stories at once. It's brutal enough at two chapters a week. If the new stories are roughly the same length we are looking at two YEARS before either finish.

BBoz8503

I am a fan of staying with one story. The chapter per week could work well but as mentioned before we have the next two stories voted on, just that one comes first.

Joe Neal

Respectfully, I think that if you are going to do two stories per week, Shield of the Winter Rose should be one of the stories. Not that we cannot trust you on balancing three stories, I think two stories at a time is perfect. I love the premise of A Promise Kept. While I like your time travel stories, I think a bit of a break would be good.

Glenn Matteson

Stick with the ONE story that gathered the most votes. I doubt it was exactly even. Majority rules.

Patrick Perrault

Stick with one story. Keeping up with both at once would be confusing.

Celexs

I really think that doing one story would be the best way to go.

Eetu Kontio

I think not only would it be confusing to keep up with 2 different stories simultaniously it would also stretch each story needlessly long. Imho just pick whichever got more votes and do that with current schedule and have the other be the next one unless you come up with something you feel you absolutely have to poll against it

TypistTyphon

Do the first chapter of both and then rerun the poll

AmateurSorcerer

I would pick one and continue with that, and pick whichever you think will be more different than recent stories. This will make it more fresh.

Christopher Rampton

Two at once may not be ideal if the lengths are anywhere near the current story. 100 chapters at one a week is two years! I’d say either pick the one you most want to write, with the other being the next story or do as someone else suggests and post the prologues of both and do another vote.

Ariheian

Maybe run the one with most votes and the other could alternate like the ASOIAF ?

Jovonia Washington

I think that you should do only one story at a time. And do the one with the most votes even if it had only a one percent lead on the other. I don't think the stories should be stretched out with one chapter a week.

Christoph Heide

I would post the prologues and do a final vote. Even if it is just a difference of one vote, this is democracy.

Vrail

I agree with this.

Ashley Robinson

I love the song fire and ice story at the moment however I find it hard to keep track and get hyped over it when there's not many chapters a month and I worry if I had 3 stories on the go the same would happen I would much rather just see one story published twice a week or even though you most likely won't want to is increase the publish rates.

Bladesunder

Just pick ONE story please. Otherwise it will feel like FOREVER to finish and less enjoyable and more confusing. One story! Just flip a coin at this point, or better yet - just do the godfather :D

GeorgieD

2 chapters per week is already too slow. Pick on and stick to it

GeorgieD

I read that Bellatrix story that this Cassiopeia one is based off of. Not that compelling

Give me good fanfic

Post prologues of the 2 stories than have people vote again.

Tyler T

Scrap both and do an MCU Crossover, in the style of Heroes Assemble, but with your signature grey/asskicking Harry. Just a thought.

Dave McCombs

At 51%/49% looks like A Promise Kept wins. :) While I'd love to see more stuff from you, I'd rather you didn't overwork yourself and burn out. Flip a coin and let Fortuna decide.

Itsyaboytrav

Id take that over a HP/GOT crossover. Post Apocalyptic Potter but darker and even better written.

D C

This might work

Tyler T

Decent GOT crossovers are super rare. The only one I can think of is The Difference One Man Can Make. And that’s been dead for years.

Aswin Prabhakaran

Why not one after the other? Ilvermony would be breath of fresh air and a break from Peverell storyline. Crossing over can come next. Just a suggestion

Matthew Allard

Write which ever one you are more passionate about right now

Evan L Cantrell

Finish the Sword and the winter rose. Then come back and write the one you like the best.

obsidianshields

My suggestion is for you to write and post the prologues/first chapters for each story, wait a few days, and then post a final poll. Whichever fic gains the most traction, work solely on that one until it’s done. While I enjoy your works, I don’t enjoy having to wait weeks or even months for the next chapter of one in favor of another that you’re working on simultaneously. Sword of the Winter Rose could have been finished last year, as well as Avalon, if you’d focused solely on one instead of both.

Durdens Wrath

Just go with the Lily fic. Its the least derivative

Omar Syed

Only publish one chapter of each IF the stories manage to be up to par. If the stories flow better when only one is worked on at a time, then I'd rather have one after the other. Even if the first story is not my choice. You never know, I might actually enjoy it. And you wait with another poll until the second story is well under way.

Kevin Henderson

I agree that keeping up with two stories would be difficult. I enjoy your stories very much. I also agree that the time travel stories have been used frequently. I do enjoy the time traveling stories. I think something a little different would be great.

Ondrej Mišo

But that's kind of the point. We are here because we like Lee's style and themes. If he suddenly started writing completely different things, lots of us would not enjoy them as much as the stuff he's currently doing. It's like the music industry, a band gets famous playing a certain style, then they change and suddenly OG fans dont like them anymore 🤷 The difference is getting new fans that like the new style is significantly easier for a band compared to a hp fanfic author.

Ondrej Mišo

too slow? are you on crack or something?

Jon Fiedler

Just do both plz so I don't have to be subjected to only A Promise Kept for however long it takes to write. This way everyone is happy

Jon Fiedler

I totally agree this is a good point. I love the time travel bit and that's a big part of why I got into his writing to begin with.

Jon Fiedler

This is a phenomenal idea

Alex Lafrance

for your sanity, i don't think to do 2 stories in the same time is good for you. You have already Sword of the winter rose. You decide anyway, but i think it is best to follow the majority

Sunny

Changing between stories is insane.... I really don't think you should do it. What you do is difficult as it is, so I find it strange you'd make it harder for yourself

Give me good fanfic

Makes no sense between the Game of Thrones Story plus HP it’ll take forever to finish. Don’t do it. I suggest finish off the Game of Thrones Story completely then just go with one of the other stories.

Durdens Wrath

Do a Harry Potter/Fallout crossover instead
