WINNING £64,000 AT 16 - THE DARK SIDE TO BETTING | What's Da Craic Podcast | Lewis Bigmore

TW discussions on gambling addiction. Viewer discretion is advised. What would you do if you won £64,000? Well with Lewis, that’s not just a fantasy question - It was his reality. At the shy age of 16, he placed his first bet on a football game and turned a few quid into a small fortune. It’s not all happily ever afters though, as simple luck quickly became an insidious obsession. We discuss the heavily taboo topic of gambling addiction and how it’s become a pandemic amongst young men. I mean, I don't want to sound callous by saying I found it fascinating, because it's literally a dude talking about how he almost destroyed his entire life through addiction, but topics like this, the heavily psychological stuff about things like addiction and neurodivergance and the way brains process things differently to justify their next dopamine hit to you, I could listen to you talk about this kind of stuff all day, and yet it IS so horrifically insidious and sad that, not only are basically all forms of addiction so widespread, but that we're purposefully failing to treat them in the name of corporate greed. That being said, another amazing episode JD, genuinely powerful, thought-provoking stuff
