We had 10 mins before everyone had to call it a day. So we set up two mics, hopped in one room and gave it a play! We didn’t even have time to practice! This isn’t indicative of the album sound btw - I just love this song and had the ability to do it! So here’s a snippet 🥰❤️

Man that sounds pretty, your vocals pair so well with classic country and bluegrass music, which, granted, it should since Bluegrass has some roots in Celtic music, but still, it sounds so gorgeous. And who doesn't love a bit of tummy percussion?

The last time I heard this song I was playing it for my grandma's funeral. It suits your voice a lot better than any of ours.

Sounds like an old negro spiritual!

Paul Stapleton

I hope you do something like this in full . just so we can hear is in its entirety . It was awesome...

I can not speak for the UK but I've found recording studios in the south and Nashville in particular to be much more spontaneous (might be the wrong word) for a quick jam session than studios in the North East. I live a mile or so from one of the biggest and you go in record what you are suppose to and get out. I can imagine a record label freaking out at their star singing a hymn for fun. I'm glad that you found such a good crew to work with. I know that you are there to record an album but I'm more happy knowing you are "recording" memories for yourself. Thank you for sharing these moments with us,

Elvis used to sing a lot of hymns... sometimes for warm up and sometimes after performing. He'd be up all night singling hymns with his buddies.
