Hello Patreon friends! I recently picked up way too many Zenith Supersport laptops. Like, an unreasonable amount. And boy howdy are they ever in a state. Will we ever get any of them to run ELKS Linux?!

Just don't get any Nadirs near them, they'll annihilate.

I got my stickers. They are on the front cover of my PC ... if you had FB I'd share them with you.

This takes me back about half a year. I work in a tech recycle job and I'm generally considered to be the business's "retro weirdo", so when we got a pallet of vintage laptops it was all on me. Easily 50% of it was Zeniths like this, and there was about 120 laptops in that lot.

Can't wait to see future videos on these

thanks for the reminder that ELKS is still around, it's like realizing slackware is still a thing AFAIK the hard drive is IDE but they're picky about CF and SD card adapters. (https://oldcrap.org/2020/10/30/zenith-supersport-286e/ - I think I did get mine to boot with a CF one, though. it's kind of a pain to do.)

"disgusting" hehe. Interested to see where you go with these.

I wonder if it's possible to mod those things to use newer screen technology... I would totally slap in an e-ink screen in one of those if I could! It might not be super practical, but it sure would be cool!
