Hey, my loves!I want to start the year by sharing something special with you.

About 10 days ago, I was approached by a highly established international reading platform about publishing My Best Friend’s Brother: Dylan as part of a formal online publishing deal. The idea was to take the story to a global audience, with editorial support, promotion, and placement alongside some of the most widely read digital fiction out there.

On paper, it was a big opportunity. And I took it seriously.

But after thinking about it deeply, I chose to turn it down.

The reason is simple. This story is not something I am willing to hand over exclusively to any company. (The rights)

My Best Friend’s Brother: Dylan was the first story I ever wrote professionally. It is the story that changed everything for me. It helped me believe I could write full time, and it has become the most loved series among my readers across platforms. Because of that, I want to retain full creative and distribution control over it.

I want this story to remain accessible where my readers already are. I want the freedom to shape it the way it needs to be shaped, without restrictions on where it lives, how it evolves, or how deeply I’m allowed to take it. This story grew because of you, and I’m not interested in placing it behind a single door or limiting how it’s shared.

Turning down that deal wasn’t an easy decision. But it was a clear one. And I feel completely at peace with it. So, as lucrative and enticing the offer was, I chose to decline it.

Which brings me to what comes next.

I’ve officially begun writing the next season of this story. 🎉🎉🎉

My Best Friend’s Brother: Dylan will be returning for Season 3 soon. (YAY!!)

This next phase is being approached differently. I’m deliberately slowing down and planning it properly because I want it to feel bigger, more layered, and more satisfying than before. The intention right now is for this to be a longer season, though I’m giving myself room to let the story unfold naturally rather than forcing it into a fixed structure.

I’m still in the early planning stage, but the tentative goal is an early March release. That timeline gives me space to build the tension properly, deepen the character dynamics, and do justice to the world these characters live in. Along the way, I’ll be sharing teasers, recaps, and behind-the-scenes glimpses so you’re part of the process. (Starting mid-feb)

Here's a little sneak peek ;)

As always, I’d love to hear from you.

What do you want more of?What dynamics should evolve or shift? What moments stayed with you from earlier seasons? What risks should this story take next?

You can send serious ideas, chaotic ideas, emotional ideas, or completely unhinged ones. I’ll be reading everything. I may not respond to everyone, and I can’t promise to use every suggestion, but this helps me understand what excites you and what you’re craving as a reader.

I don’t know how many seasons this story will ultimately have. What I do know is that I’m committed to continuing a deep, honest dive into Troy’s world as he navigates life, desire, complicated men, bad decisions, good growth, and everything in between.

Thank you for being here. For reading. For caring. And for making this story worth protecting.

Looking forward to reading your thoughts on S3.

Very excited!!!! Thank you…

One—good for you. Two—I hope they’ll circle back with an offer that lets you keep it here AND gives you the larger platform (or that you counter by asking for that). Either way, congrats.

Thank you. My #1 preference will ALWAYS be keeping all stories here. No matter what.

Wow what an amazing thing that you are being looked at in that way, I am glad you chose to keep it available to us. I look forward to the new season and I love that you are giving room for it to flow naturally and not be forced or restricted

I’ve got to buckle down and start reading this! I’ve been getting sidetracked with your other luscious stories(not a bad thing)!

Just wanted to say what a huge compliment this is to your writing that they reached out and wanted to publish your story. You should feel very proud of your work because it is definitely paying off. You have touched more people than you know and will continue to do with everything you write. Way to go Troy I’m very happy for you!

Manny

Congratulations Troy.

"Dylan staying longer with protein brand." Something told me he wouldn't want to leave so soon hehehe. Turning down book deals isn't easy, but we have to make the choice that is best for us and our stories. I'm happy to hear you feel good about your decision and that you are writing the rest of the story. I am very excited for this one. Dylan has a special place in my heart. Since you asked, I always felt Dylan needs to start expressing his feelings better if he has any chance against "mon amour Elliott." Both Dylan and Elliot offer something different to Troy, things he needs, but neither offers both, and I think neither is willing to share, but the dynamics of exploration about that might be interesting for Troy, if that was something you wanted to explore. In any case, I am VERY excited for more.

Great feedback thank you. Dylan's character changed dramatically from Season 1. So, whatever happens, there definitely will be character development in S3!

I am late finding this post by you, Troy. We have been telling you for months about what a great writer you are and this offer proves it. It must have been a very difficult decision for you to make, but I for one, am grateful that you choose to leave the story here for us to read and re-read. I will read anything you write, I really enjoy your stories! Congratulations on the recognition of your ability!
