The Frost Heart - Part 1 (Graphic Novel Format, PDF Version)

So many characters, so little time (and computing power). Yes, we have regrets. With so many great characters and oodles of possible stories, it is impossible to give every character their well-deserved 'screen time.'

Lady Katrin Killian is one of those characters for whom we have regrets. We could do an entire series of graphic novels just about her. Born blind. Orphaned as a child. Raised by monks. Gifted with telekinetic powers. Bequeathed an artificial intelligence companion and a trans-dimensional portal. Benevolent ruler of a mountain kingdom. Enemy of the Sovereign Empire. The White Lady. The Frost Heart. Keeper of The Gate. Bitch of the North.

So much story to explore! But, there's never enough time to do so. Maybe when we make it to the big time of graphic novels and animated features, we'll do something fitting for Lady Katrin -- a truly epic story that spans decades and includes The Age of Exploration, the rise of the Sovereign Empire, The Uprising, the Battle of Black Metal Ridge, the Spiritwalker, Polonius, Lady Penelope, and the crew of the Airship Andalusia.

But, for now, because of limited time and resources, we have to manage our expectations. So, here's a short story featuring our very own meat mallet maven Snow Queen, Lady Katrin: The Frost Heart. Narrated by Mae Dalton, the story explores the origin of Lady Katrin Killian -- an origin story of loss and pain, fear and uncertainty, courage and triumph. It's a wintry tale that even includes a fitting Holiday Season message. Ho, ho, ho, Merry Calvesmas!

Enjoy!
