When you build a 2000-year story arc that covers humanity's transformation from a terrestrial to intragalactic species, the story possibilities are endless. We've been doing this for 10 years (!) now and we're still standing at the top of a deep well of story possibilities. With all that potential material, it's important to focus. In the universe of The Airship Andalusia, the Aftermath, the Directorate, and the Ott Empire represent three distinct phases of humanity's Ad Astra evolution. In case you're new to The Airship Andalusia, here's a quick primer on the three time periods in the story arc:

The Aftermath is the period of time following a series of worldwide wars, pandemics, and unchecked climate degradation have brought humanity to brink of extinction. The stories featuring Armageddon Express characters Nevv, Teez, Shay, Snap, Klink, Stork, Tripp, an Ronch take place during this period.

Jump forward to the Directorate and humanity has spread throughout the galaxy using Forerunner technology to identify, terraform, and colonize new worlds. Temporal Mechanics, Dusk, Auggie Entertainment, Nion, TNA, and Skaia are just a few examples of stories from this period.

Jump forward again to the period of the Ott Empire -- in which the original storyline of The Airship Andalusia is based -- and we explore one human-colonized world in the Directorate where advanced technologies have been eliminated through a multi-generational campaign orchestrated by the Imperial Ott family of the Sovereign Empire. Stories featuring Polonius and Lady Penelope, Cee, Thweela, Pugs, Lady Katrin, Perceval and Stonemaaker, the Spiritwalker, the Curator, Miss Molly McCorkle, Miss Ophelia Archimedes, Lady Aleksa, Mae, Daisy Mae, Sallie Mae, Ellie Mae, and Jessie Mae Dalton, Lady Xanthippe, Commander Gwynne, and Lady Shireen (just to name a few) occur in this time period.

"Bridge" stories are important. The backstory of Cee (in all its various bits and pieces) describes how we got from the Directorate to the Ott Empire. But, we have not told the story of how humanity left Ancient Earth behind for the stars. Until now.
