The Airship Andalusia - Land of Shadow & Flame - Part 1 (Graphic Novel Format, PDF Version)

“There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio,Than are dreamt of in your philosophy.”

--Hamlet, Act 1, Scene 5

Indeed. Hamlet's encounter with ghost of his father leads him to challenge the ever-rational Horatio as he wrestles with reconciling the natural with the supernatural. Shakespeare's insight into the human condition is both keen and amusing, poking fun at the thin veneer of rationality we crudely apply over the emotional, irrational undercurrents that rule us.

Known to only a select few of Sovereign Emperor Frederick's inner circle, the Shadowlands embody a secret, supernatural threat best kept dark. Very dark. Understanding that the existence of this ethereal realm is an ever-present threat to the stability of the corporeal world, Emperor Frederick appoints one Gifted Sovereign Lady as Warden of the Shadowlands. Tasked with maintaining the barrier separating the two worlds, the Warden is an ever-watchful sentry standing guard against those who would seek to pierce the veil and cross between realms.

Meet Lady Dresden Dieberge, Sovereign Warden of the Shadowlands. Wildly unruly fire-red hair, eyes that change color with her mood, and a slim body sporting huge breasts and muscular calves that defy gravity and all sense of proportionality, Lady Dresden bears the mantle of her charge with courage and grace. It is not an easy job. The weight of responsibility, coupled with her exotic looks, often leads to passersby whispering to their friends, "Witch", "Sorceress", "Necromancer" when she goes out in public. Men unabashedly stare at her colossal cleavage. Women look at her otherworldly body with a mix of envy and scorn. Children scatter when she approaches.

But it is she alone who stands between them and the denizens in the dark oblivion of the Shadowlands.

Here is the first part of Land of Shadow and Flame featuring Lady Dresden done in our Classic Comic Book style.

Enjoy!
