Ego death vs Retained Ego vs ego alteration (Patreon)

Ego death pertains to a characters entire personality changing with their transformation. Believe it or not, JocGo doesn't have a full personality transformation, as Jerry is still there, its just... as Jenny she has different sexual preferences. Most of her upbeat personality remains.But I have done other comics that deal with complete ego death. I could discuss the differences in the concept until the end of time, but I think one really good way of putting it would be.

In Ranma-- both male and female ranma retain their ego.In Dr. Jekyll and Miss Hyde, Both characters have different personalities/egos. Essentially Dr. Jekyll's ego dies when Miss Hyde takes over. Examples of Ego Alteration would be something akin to a story where someone's personality stays in tact, except aspects are slightly altered in their new form, either during the transformation or over time as their new affects them. Someone once said Mai from BlazBlue is a bit like this, she retains her personality form being a male but over time becomes more and comfortable with being female, accepts it, and even becomes attracted to a male. 

A favorite TG story of mine by an Author I believe who's name is Ruth White, called the Guinea Pig, involves keeping a male characters entire personality as he is transformed into a blonde bimbo, but forcefully altering the attraction portions of his brain. They keep his old attractions but expand upon them to add men (and I believe make men a higher attraction than women) and use it as a sort of internal torturing device for him.Personally I like all 3, but if I had to chose one, Ego Alteration is fun. I always imagined if you're turned into anything, say a mouse, or a bird, you'd get certain inevitable instinctual changes that would come with the new form. But i really want to know what you guys think. I want to know what you prefer, why you prefer it. So comment down below about it.
