🥱Tier 1: Sleepy Morning Shantae 🥱☀️ (Patreon)

My new illustration is now finished.

As part of this month’s Tier 1 rewards,I’m sharing this piece as an early preview of the completed illustration.I hope you’ll enjoy being able to see it a little sooner.

For this illustration,I drew a sleepy Shantae again for the first time in a while 🥰The scene takes place in Shantae’s room with the morning sunlight shining in.I wanted to capture her looking defenseless and still drowsy, rubbing her eyes as she wakes up.I also paid special attention to the soft atmosphere created by the light, as well as the way her body lines are shown. 🖌😊🎨

This time, I tried using lighting coming from behind her.Since backlighting can make the whole image look too dark, I painted it brighter than it would naturally appear.It became a bit of an experiment in finding the right balance between visibility and the feeling of backlighting.

I’ve also included the WIP as a little bonus, and I hope you’ll enjoy that as well!
