Back at the end of season 1 during Lakan's backstory reveal, they also reveal Luomen is Lakan's uncle. They reveal bits of connection between the two at a few other places. In fact, Luomen getting fired from the rear palace was the catalyst for Lakan's father forcing him to go study abroad and miss Maomao's birth
