Sooo, curiosity got the better of me and I bought the manga. Often the character designs leave a different impression than when the characters are set in motion. My first take was that it is a little more understandable why Sasaki is fooled. The Tamaya bangs are just a tad longer and she always has her face tilted down in every frame while Yamada is face up almost always. In monochrome her lipstick stands out more as well. I also kind of wondered why these characters and their dynamic together felt so familiar... The volume extra pages are titled Back-Page Cosplay. 🤦‍♂️

Yes. Their ages are revealed in the anime really soon, and it's been all over social media, so I don't think it's really a spoiler to say that Sasaki is 45, and Yamada is 24.

I mean I didnt want to assume at first but even though she looks different, the things she says are always soooo obvious 🤣 I can see the manga not feeling that way as much though Annnnd, as a viewer, I too would have questioned whether it was the same person or not the entire time if they hadnt told us... But I would have also been saying "this has to be the same person" every 5 minutes 🤣 Hmm I dont recognize the Back-page title o-o

The age gap is quite big but tbh anyone complaining has too much free time and hasn't watched the show. Sa-slow-ski is way too dense and innocent to treat a girl that way :)

I'm 43.. and if a 22 girl would be interested in me, it would be the last thing I'd think if she isn't clear about that...so, from that point of view I kinda understand why he doesn't see it that way. I'd probably see it as banter exactly like him.
