Definitely one of my all time favorites tbh, thanks for the reactions! 😊

It was a lot of fun rewatching the anime with your reaction I love this story since I read the manga. We never get a confirmation in the story that Taira and Azuma are together but I remember reading somewhere that someone asked the author and said they are dating so is enough confirmation for my heart

Easily one of my favorite romcoms ever. Just the way it shows growth, friendship, romance, and the closure it gives all its characters was all so well done! Every relationship, every moment, and every episode was paced very well! Not a single episode or part felt wasted, and every character felt like they got the proper amount of screen time for their personal arcs. An easy top 10 romance anime for me. Objectively its more of a 9/10, but as a romance its a perfect 10, and so overall I land at a very solid 9.5/10! This is partially based on how well it concludes the series for me as not many shows can say the same, or even have a complete adaptation/ending to begin with. I definitely felt the emotions during the ending (watched it twice since the english dub for the finale just came out), and I always value any show/movie that gets me genuinely emotionally invested in it! Love your reactions, and even though I can't be a patreon for much longer for financial reasons, I really enjoyed your feelings and thoughts on the show so thank you for the good/happy vibes! (also I def recommend watching the english dub if you choose to rewatch this cuz its really good!)

They really trolled the audience with the title and the synopsis! Unless it was an error. That was the title and synopsis from S2E1. STUCK… THE…. LANDING! To be honest, prior to the airing of S1E1 I read the pitch and looked at the character designs, art style and color palette, and I expected, at best, a comedy heavy, fun, second tier title. Polar Opposites BY FAR exceeded my expectations. Effortlessly pulling off multiple pacing tempo’s due to the ensemble format and doing deep dives into the complexities of first love. This one broke so many rules. You are not supposed to confess and couple up in the first episode. You are not supposed to be able to use a non realistic art style and character design to draw out such sober emotional responses. You are not supposed to have characters discuss potential issues without prolonged agony. You are not supposed to tell an earnest love story using a pastel color pallet. Congratulations You And I Are Polar Opposites. You broke all the rules and still earned a solid, permanent spot on my top tier of Romance and Rom/Com titles.

…It’s over. 😭 One last little Tairazuma crumb: about 30 minutes after the finale aired, Wataru Katou (Taira’s VA) posted this cover he sang with Miyuri Shimabukuro (Azuma’s VA) of Bara no Hana (an alt-rock song from 2001 that would definitely fit Taira's taste in music from episode 11): https://youtu.be/uzVVKkSlhnU. It's not canon but I want to believe this is the song they were singing in the car near the end.
