Weekly Update! - Day3 (Patreon)

Last week, I wasn’t really in a condition to prepare a post for you, but the game is progressing well. One of the routes is already almost completely functional, and I’ve fixed some visual bugs that were happening, as well as a few dialogues that had some errors.
I’ve also started working on some new sketches to use as placeholders while I work further on the programming. There are already at least 3 or 4 new sketches, with variations for some scenes.
Let me remind you a little bit about my process so you can understand why it takes so long to finish a complete scene.
I program the dialogue and each effect depending on what’s happening, and I also have to pull in the correct images according to the scenes. Sometimes it’s just a single dot in the wrong place, or a piece of code being on the line below instead of above it, and suddenly things start breaking. Images don’t appear, things look a little weird, and I have to figure out where the problem is in the code so I can fix that tiny bug.
For example, over the past few days, there was one specific sprite of the boss that simply refused to appear in the scene, even though all the other sprites were working without any problems. These things might seem simple, but sometimes they can take a lot of time to fix. Sometimes I even have to put the problem aside and work on another part until I figure out how to fix it.
It’s a little complicated, and I’m not sure if this part of the process is interesting to you, so here are some screenshots instead:
