Hello Moto,

To be able to release on Steam, I need to set prices. (My Friend's Family is expected to be on Steam soon, starting from v0.14). To maximize the chances on Steam, I have to take a look at the Price Filter.

Summer of Love for example. When deciding to pick $15 or $16, I decided to choose $15 because the Price Filter in USD is: $5-$10-$15-$20... If I chose $16, a lot of people (who set their maximum price as $15) wouldn't be able to see Summer of Love.

But it's not as simple as this. Each currency has a different filter. Example: Russian RUB is: 150-300-450... EURO: 5-10-15-20... SGD: 6-12-18-24... Most currencies have patterns like this (except GBP has this weird pattern: 4-7-12-16... Why not 8 but 7?).

Using VPN doesn't give me all currencies. I need other currencies to have a better plan to set prices. Therefore, please help me by clicking on this link (https://store.steampowered.com/category/visual_novel) and checking to see how your currency looks like in the Price Filter.

Edited: With the help from everyone, I already have a lot of currencies. At the moment, I only lack QAR (Qatar).

Thanks a lot!

$15 usd is fine. i pay close to $19 since im from canada

TysonL

$20 usd is way too high. thats auto $25 + tax

Captain Kitty

Hi. May I ask the price filter in CAD? Is it 6-12-18 like I'm guessing?

Captain Kitty

The Early Access of MFF is lower than $15 in USD. But I don't know the pattern for CAD yet.

TysonL

right now our dollar sucks, $15usd = $20 canadian. so 5 dollars on top not including the tax

Captain Kitty

So the pattern is 5-10-15-20... just like USD? Thank you!

TysonL

your welcome

TysonL

wish you bring your old games "the Engagement " and "jealousy" sell them for quick $5 usd each or $10

Lord Kata

Hi Cap my currency (CHF) got the same pattern as for the EURO (5-10-15-20) 🐌🐌

From where I am from the scale is: free, CHF 5, 10, 15, 20, ..., 55, any price. I don't use the price filters. Honestly speaking, I haven't played through the latest version of MFF. For VN, I typically find USD 10 - 15 as appropriate, unless there is really much content. If the price were above USD 15 and there was limited content, I would be unhappy and I would sometimes give a bad review. Anything between 5 and 10 USD, I would typically be happy with any content. Also, myself, I like lesbian content. So, if the price is north of USD 15, I will always ask: Is there such content and not buy the game unless I have a reliable feedback. Between 10 and 15 I might gamble and below I would go for it if the screen shots are nice. If the game is below USD 5, I look at it as trash and I don't bother. Maybe this helps.

Captain Kitty

Hi. Those games have 2 problems (because they were developed when I just started): low graphics quality & bad writing. The animations of them only have 10-20 renders per animation. Meanwhile, there are 40-80 renders per animations in MFF. That's why the quality when playing on a big screen will be terrible. To have them on Steam, I will need to do a lot. Maybe they will be revived in the future when I revamp them with better writing and re-rendering everything.

Captain Kitty

First, I'm appreciate with your information! And to be honest with you, this is my plan for price in CHF (which is similar to USD): 15 for normal game & 20 for longer game (MFF is in the longer type, but it will be 13.19 for the first release on Steam because it's in the early access, plus 20% discount so it will be 11.19). The reason why the price is like this instead of 10 for normal game & 15 for longer game: there is an obstacle for games with NTR. Other devs with games without NTR are earning a lot on Steam. As for me, it's a different story so I have to do this kind of price.

I wouldn't even think on using steam, because alot of users cannot even create an account with them because of there policies of blocking users from different countries to accessing adult content. Alot of dev's went to subscribestaradult because of these barriers, that way their patreons could still support them without using vpn.

Captain Kitty

Hi. I have a subscriberstar account, too. But they withdraw directly to bank, which is a problem because my country bans pornography. That's why I'm giving Steam a try even though I'm still on Patreon.

BeastMaster

Yeah, I understand that, as long as you also have subscribestar, it doesn't hurt have steam also, wouldn't rely on patreon alone because alot of people that I have supported have just had there account erased without notice. Pitiful.

Captain Kitty

Yes, I know it. The news is running among devs at the moment. They are purging devs at the moment.

Thumpa2382

I had a steam account but I seam to have been locked out and I won't except my "capt ha" to get it sorted?

Captain Kitty

Hi. Maybe it locks because of adult contents. But please don't worry. Thank you for your effort and good intention!

In Poland: free below 20 PLN, below 40 PLN, below 60 PLN, so on up to below 240 PLN ... On today exchange rate 20 PLN is 4,94 USD.

those games still have good story. you should list them for $5 or $3 for a quick sale if you don't remake them. people want cheap and the cheaper you make these more will buy. when you start selling your newer games your competing with being a dik. genesis order and actual indie devs and small studios. i'd browse games out currently and upcoming sexual content to the price. also so many games came in recently "amnesia" and "the singer" i didn't even know. so many adult games coming in steam. buy yeah you make $5 each on 2 different games from me if you sold them. remake them but don't waste em if you think quality wise my first 2 games and i don't feel comfortable. i'm a huge fan of you and the other 2 devs people like all you guys at and i want all your new and old games.

Captain Kitty

Thank you. I'm thinking about that then. But to release a game on Steam, there are a lot of things to do, so we can't have them so early.

Captain Kitty

Thanks a lot for your information! It's a big help for me!
