Hi!

First, I'm very dumb in coding. Everything I've been doing so far (transparent texts & translations...) were helped by supporters and other devs.

My Friend's Family had a few translations by using RenLocalizer of https://www.patreon.com/cw/LordOfTurk without walkthroughs yet. And when I started to do the walkthrough, it became a nightmare. With 16 translations, I will have to copy paste each choice 16 times so the sentences will be the same instead of becoming different because of using something to auto translate again. That's why I decided to do the hints in game, but I couldn't do it.

Edited: After having a look at SHWD's walkthrough mod, I can do it now. And Google AI also helped me add the toggle box in the preference menu to turn hints on/off.

Thanks to this, I won't have to translate walkthroughs anymore.

And in the next game, Me, My Wife & Ivy, we will have hints in-game instead of Walkthroughs.

Again, thank you SHWD, LordOfTurk & Google AI!

We expect to see My Friend's Family 1.0.3 to be released next week with hints in game!

Thank you!

Didn't I already post a walkthrough mod for the full game on F95? You can totally integrate it. Maybe just set $ mod1 = "" when the walkthrough is off, and if it's enabled, set $ mod1 = {color=#2761F5}(good guy), and that's it.

I forgot this entirely, to be honest. Now when you say it, I will have a look. But it might not work, because I had a few changes in the script after you did the mod.

Then you'll need a comparison tool like Beyond Compare. You just need to copy the modified options I've made into the new file. However, doing so means you'll have to retranslate some of the options.

Yes, it's not a good choice. Because I also want to be able to do it in my next game. Just use your script won't let me do it in the next game.

Alternatively, you can look for another game or mod that has a similar walkthrough toggle feature, and then modify yours by comparing it with that mod. By the way, if you're following your current hint system, you need to write it like this: "Nothing will happen!" (hint=_("Netorare Route")) in order to extract and translate the hint text. You might also need to modify the choice code as shown below, so that the options can be correctly translated when the walkthrough is enabled: text vbox: for i in items: textbutton __(i.caption) action i.action if persistent.show_hints and "hint" in i.args: textbutton i.args["hint"] But actually, you could just ask all of this to an AI directly — maybe the AI will teach you how to do it.
