Hi there, I'm sorry if the drawing of the week isn't there today. I have been working like a maniac all week on a complete makeover of the doujin. I am not even done but I will probably take a break to update the Spanish version and ch. 4.5 (you guys have it here tho!!) on pixiv etc. 4.5 needs its Japanese translation anyway so I think whenever we have that will be a good time to complete this makeover. I have a Spanish translator and editor I will work with as well.

I hope you see the changes and think : "okay it's better". I have been saying the mantra : "it will be worth it" all week because the guilt of the storyboard, today's illustration and a pending commission on my shoulders have been pretty heavy to bear, I'm not gonna lie... I hope you guys understand and forgive me for the little extra wait for the previously mentioned.

I truly believe the doujinshi looks really better. In theory, it's just small details but I think (especially for new readers) it will unconsciously hook people more on the doujinshi. Fingers crossed!

Here's a list of everything I updated:

The paper's colour ; Yes, the game has a yellow/old paper filter to it but on manga form it was a bit jarring. In white it contrasts better and looks more manga coded in general.

The bubbles: For some reasons they were brown? I don't even think I picked the good colour from the game lol..It is now a dark gray (not too dark to stick out from the very black filled characters) and I also added the paper filter of the game on the bubbles. It makes it pops just a little more, way way easier on the eyes. (you don't have to squint !)

I reduced the walls of text that they often had. Yes, in the fan fiction the dialogues will be longer, more detailed. However, manga is meant to have shorter dialogues; less to say more. A friend of mine had this critique and that's where doing the scripts for future chapters came from.

The SFXs are now always in Japanese by default with a handwritten [translation] next to it. It is a big job on its own to go translate my sfx when I do the Japanese version...So doing it by default will help that. It looks cool too!

Japanese covers have now a Japanese translation always of [Eyes and Roots] and the chapter in Japanese as well.

In both ENG and JP versions on pixiv now can be read like real manga from left to right. I used to crop manually all the pages ( I didn't know there was a function for it on clip studio when you export.... lmfao) so now they are all straight

Likewise, here on Patreon, I changed the pages so it is always double page instead of single page. Since Patreon is counter direction of manga, Ive been told it was a bit jarring. To avoid as much as I can, I updated them on double pages.

As you can see from the examples there is now a bonus page with a chibi between each chapter's cover and page 1 (where a white page would separate in a book form). It is not on Patreon because it wouldn't change much but on pixiv it's huge. Also it's great for any coming trigger warning. Some chapters contains more gore after all.

Alright that's it. weekly illustration will be posted tomorrow <3 Thank you for reading

You've been grinding like a possessed artist and gifted us with great art. A small break is warranted. Love the new filter and look over all, keep on evolving and let that brain engine rest now.
