I’m getting serious green ranger vibes from this. I love it.

Steve Lombard

Noice!!! Can’t wait to start printing it… thank you so much. Love you work!

arthur dos santos

its looks like the same schematics that the neopixel lightsaber uses, right?

Marko Makaj

they are very close yes - i will try to source the board tho :Di think we can have much more fun with this :D

SirBlyndFury

The price of that kit....... Can't wait to see what alternative you come up with.

Marco

Beautiful! Have you used the 127,45 euro set?

Chris West

Can’t wait to see how you apply this tech to other blades!

Marko Makaj

Yes its the set i included in the project, but i'll try to find a cheaper solution down thr line as well :)

Celenia

It’s awesome. Let us know when you find an alternative kit 😅

Denholm365

Awesome design. I share the "gasp" about the 125€ sound & light kit. It is astonishing for pro cosplayers, but a nogo when printing those for kids within family.

Stefan Graf

Great Design, but wont get involved with "MakerWorld".

Marko Makaj

i'll try to figure out diferent electronics :) may i ask about the issues with makerwordl you have ? you can drop me a message if you dont feel talking about it publicly, or just ignore this one if you dont feel like talking about it :) i was just being curious :)

Stefan Graf

All good ;) I respect BambuLab for there huge impact in the 3D-Printing space, but some "practices" (stealing, copying from for example Prusa) still leave a very bad taste in my mouth. Datasecurity overall seems a little shady. So i simply dont want to support or give any data to them.

I was just looking at the bambu bundled hardware set -- for all of the internals for a sound/light/motion saber, that price doesn't seem unreasonable. I'm sure the individual components can be sourced separately for less, but that seems comparable to other all-in-one kits on the market.

Marko Makaj

yeah the kit feels expensive, but i was also looking at aliexpress that is the chepast and boards alone are like 50-60 $, i will still try to source some cheaper ones, but i do not think we will go that much cheaper to be honest

Constantine

I'd love if you explore more ways to implement such kit on more ideas of you! It kicks ass!

WeapwnX

I wouldn't say that it feels expensive as much as the price is outrageous. You could get a proffie board v3.9 for $25-30 on AliExpress. 1m neopixel is $15 on adafruit or 1m ws2812b for around $2 on AliExpress. You can get a 2pack of 18650s for about $10. Momentary buttons, speaker, and type c ports are all pretty cheap. At the cheapest end of the spectrum this could be done for around $50 plus shipping. Sure, you'd have to solder everything but that ain't worth it the $85 difference.

Marko Makaj

but you also have to instal the software, sound fonts, and so on ... Buuuuuuut , drop me a message, incould use some help with onstaling this on a proffieboard :) and if we csn make a cheaper one, why not :D ill design a custom chasis for it :)

WeapwnX

For sure dude, fingers crossed I should have some more proffie boards next week so I'll start printing parts this week. I'll shoot you a message tomorrow with more info, I got a busy night at work today.
