Plante, since you're both a gamer and a lover of films (like myself too!), is there a game that inspired you to want to go watch a particular movie, or conversely a movie that inspired you to go play a particular game?

I’d love to know why we don’t see that many game devs in more obscure US video game areas like New Jersey, Maine, New Mexico, or even Idaho

Which was more comfortable for you? Being a journalist for those online outlets that were pretty tenuous. Or the current era of reader supported journalism. You are not allowed to answer “both eras had there pluses and minuses”. You gotta pick

Hi Chris, thanks for Post games. It’s been a bright spot in a year that sorely needed bright spots. My question is: It feels like the games industry is at its largest reckoning since the crash in the 80’s. Not only are consoles being redefined, but a lot of the tentpoles like AAA open world, games as a service, and free to play aren’t the moneymakers they used to be. Now I’ve heard you refer to this as the year of too many games. Do you think that variety is what’s going to carry the industry forward or do you want to put on your Nostradamus hat and predict a whole new thing that game companies will rally around?

For as long as I’ve played games, I have always skipped cinematic sequences or tuned out gameplay dialogue. From reading and listening to games media, I have a newfound appreciation for the craft, but I still find myself impatient with this aspect of games. I love storytelling and performance in other mediums, but that engagement hasn’t translated to games. How can I start to enjoy this aspect of video games?

I sent in a voice question, hopefully in the right format and such 🤞 I can't wait to see/hear what you put together!

In 2026, what's one book about art Theory or Criticism that you think your listeners would benefit from reading?

What impacts will the potential WB acquisition have on their games division? WB Games has the LEGO, DC, Mortal Kombat, and some other large brands under their umbrella. Which buyer do you think would be a better steward for their games division?

Crossovers are not new to the genre, but it sure seems like indie (and not-so-indie) game cross-promotion/collabs are becoming the norm. From the Dead Cells "Everyone is here" update to a showcase of cosmetic card backs based on other games in Balatro to entire DLC releases in Vampire Survivors based on Contra and Among Us. What are your thoughts on this sort of cross-promotion and what would be your dream indie game collab and how would you want it to be implemented? I would love to see two of my favs Hades and Slay the Spire crossover with a weapon aspect in Hades based on the Silent or a Zagreus deck in StS. Feel free to paraphrase that if you use it. I tend to ramble.

Would love to hear a little more from you about the dilemma of so many games, so little time - especially considering some comments you've made about not needing to feel obligated to play certain titles just due to awards ceremony publicity or whatnot. Is it simply just that - games should be fun and not an obligation?
