This week, I emptied the Post Games mailbag and tried to answer as many questions as I could muster. The result is one of the longest episodes to date, with the AMA spanning three acts and over 60 minutes!

Plus, a very special extended news of the week: I chatted with Phil Salvador from the Video Game History Foundation. The VGHF has preserved the Sega Channel, the 1990s predecessor to PlayStation Now and Xbox Game Pass. How the hell do archivists preserve such a thing? Listen to find out!

Now, I'd say this is the final episode of 2025, but that's not entirely true. Next week, I'll be sharing a special Patreon-exclusive mini-episode, reflecting on my personal favorite games of the year, along with a few small surprises. But I'm getting ahead of myself!

Hey Chris, I just want to thank you for what you do and tell you you are doing so much more than enough. The main thing we want is for this to be sustainable. We love this thing you've created!

Don’t know why you had to get so real with the “wipe your memory” question and clarify, out of left field, what I’m chasing whenever I pick up a new game and that it’s not the games I played in my past but rather the life and company I had at that time, outside of the game.

I loved the news segment about preserving the Sega channel! Always fascinating to hear how people go about this. I was hooked on the concept of it back when I first listened to the old episode of A Life Well Wasted about it. Curious if you've seen this series, https://preservingworlds.net/. It's all about aging virtual worlds and who still spends their time there/preserves them. I believe it's exclusive to means.tv but well worth paying for even just a month to watch the series. Happy New Year!
