sunday wip stuff!!! 2024 8-18 (Patreon)

baby steps into the actual animation phase of this one as i'm getting back into the habit of animating regularly, but here's the animation so far! i've decided on an outline style similar to "Modify" where there'll be thick outlines surrounding all of the drawings, which is a little time consuming since i'm doing it by hand but it looks really nice so i think it's worth it!

there's also a peek at what the finished + colored character designs actually look like! the whole idea of the animation is that it's a demon and an angel who are both crushing on eachother where one is too nervous to be forward while the other is Very forward, i figured that'd be a funny dynamic to have and animate!

i should also mention that the song being animated is "I'm A Crazy Weirdo" by Parry Gripp! its a bit of a silly choice but thats pretty much the point, i wanted to capture some of that essence of flipnotes from the era that song was made around! helping that is the fact that one of the characters in the animation is actually an updated version of an old character i made for flipnote hatena in 2011-2012! below is an old drawing of them from that time..

 i'm generally not one for nostalgia, i just find the idea of distilling that hyperactive, 2008-2011 flipnote energy into "something that's executed with modern standards" to be interesting!
