Were... they trying to convay a supernatural speed in that opening scene? Also, very authentic, that baby killer 3000 they were gonna put baby Emma in.

i was always under the impression that that wolf was ruby, though thinking on it now actually i guess she shouldnt be transforming at this point in the story but. pilot episode?

I had to look what bail bondsmen did when I first watched it since the practice is illegal in most other countries afaik. If you can't pay bail, theyll pay it for you and act as like an insurance thing to make sure you appear at trial. They charge a fee that's maybe 10% of the amount for bail. I'm pretty sure you have to pay them back afterwards Also if you don't appear for trial, they're legally allowed to hunt you down and bring you back to the court and recover their money, basically acting as a bounty hunter. I don't think it's legal to assault the person you're hunting down but it also feels like it's not actually illegal for some reason. Anyhow, it's a wild choice for the job of the protagonist you're meant to be rooting for. They could have had her be like, a PI or something.

I would not be shocked if the writers also intended for it to be Ruby and only figured out later that it wouldn't make sense. Especially since Sheriff 50 Shades specifically points out that a wolf being in the road is highly unlikely, it seems like they meant it to be a Thing. Honestly would have been very funny if there was no magic in Maine except for werewolves.

They were not, the animation was just bad. Is the baby killer 3000 the magic wardrobe or did I miss another one?

Okay genuinely unhinged job to give a protagonist. I think there could have been some real meat on that if they wanted to explore Emma having to fall into a job that's reliant on screwing over other people and being complicit in a system that's hurt her in the past (let's all recall that Emma gave birth to Henry while handcuffed to a bed !!) but that's not the kind of thing OUAT was interested in exploring :/

I used to work across from the courthouse and bail bondsman and bounty hunters used to come in all the time. They loved bragging to me about how they'd just caught a dude by catfishing him on a dating app. It really seemed to be like, their main trick. They had strategies on what type of woman to pretend to be.

oh okay so this is perhaps the first and last time OUAT will ever portray something accurately

"I think one of the boldest choices this show made was not having any of the actors bother to change their accents at all, resulting in a tiny town in the middle of Maine being populated with a suspicious number of European expats." My housemates and I have been rewatching OUAT to make a relationship chart and one of my favourite jokes to crop up from that experience is that enchanted france is in australia. Also Emma doing bail bonds never twigged me as weird because I read way too much of Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series as a teenager, but you are right, that is a really strange and fucked up job for Emma specifically to have.

wait is THAT what Stephanie Plum does??? I've never read the books but I skimmed the blurbs of tons of them when I worked at a library, I also thought she was a private investigator lmao
