God I remember hating the adultery plotline so much. On the other hand, I don't remember August at all. In my family, if we successfully predict a twist etc we say, "I'm so good at tv." Congrats to your wife's boyfriend for being so good at tv :)

Henry being the only kid in his school to like. Move up a grade and experience new birthdays has been fucking me up all the way through my household's rewatch. No wonder this kid had no issue believing magic exists and latched onto the first wild book that held an explanation for his town, I too would steal a credit card and escape, if only to find out if other towns had kids that were allowed to graduate!

I literally haven't been able to stop thinking about this since the pilot. I realize there are like logistical details about how the town actually works that can be glossed over with "it's magic," but it's crazy that Henry hasn't just like.... shown Emma his class pictures? Henry aging year by year while the other kids all remain frozen in time? no wonder he doesn't have any friends at the start of the series; he outgrows anyone that he might get close to every year! I would also stop bothering trying to get close to anyone my age!
