I think you'd really like Kathryn Nolan's romantic suspense books if you're craving that adventure/romance plot hybrid. Out of the Blue is bodyguard/second chance m/f, Free Fall is m/m bodyguard, and then there's a series about private detectives who track down rare books that starts with Under the Veil, m/f fake marriage to infiltrate an illegal auction at a fancy party. This one sounds so frustratingly close to really good.
