From what I know of her books, apparently Deep End is an improvement on her other books, for what that's worth? Also the name Lowe Moreland drives me up the fucking wall because by definition, Moorlands are upland areas. The man is called Low Highland and it really gets on my wick to a stupid level.

struggling to place a vote because I cannot in good conscience pick any of these. they all sound so milquetoast. (going with bride so you have to read the word vampyre over and over again)

Hi I'm an unironic lover of Ali Hazelwood and I will say other than the fact that she writes deeply martyred female characters with men who in the end just want to support them and their ambitions with slightly less suffering overall (yes, I was raised Catholic, what of it?), as an ace romance reader, she writes mostly ace characters, which is fairly rare especially for such a popular author in the "spicy" space! I would go so far as to say her insane vampire(pyre lol) book is her MOST asexual allegory of all. The little I know of your taste leads me to believe you probably won't enjoy these books overly (there's no autistic swag dickmatizing the worst man who has ever lived) but I'm excited to see your take of whichever of these (basically the same) books you end up with!

I am vastly curious about TLH, since it seems like, once it's about fake dating scientists, it can't be much like Reylo anymore. I'm eager to see if I'm wrong!

i love an enemies to lovers as much as the next romantic but the non-fantasy ones don't read as unhinged enough to get me interested. Hope you have a good time!

if I read it I'm going to need y'all to tell me how Reylo it is because I have Not seen the movies lmaooo

I really appreciate having a sincere Hazelwood lover on board for this, and your good grace letting me have my fun griping about it. I'm more than willing to be pleasantly surprised, and a promising asexual allegory is actually one of the few things that could give me some hope about Bride if it ends up winning. also lmaoooooo I feel so SEEN by autistic swag dickmatizing awful men 😭😭😭

I have to hand it to Hazelwood, referencing Jedi mind tricks in the synopsis of her Star Wars fanfic with the serial numbers JUST BARELY filed off takes a certain level of bravado that few are capable of. (I have read TLH. I read it when it had just come out. There was a lot of screaming in my group chat about it. I hope you get to read it.)
